Stayed at the Prince of Wales in January. They were running some big rate discount and I thought it would be a good time to go. Boy was I wrong! room was shabby, food very expensive and the staff seemed to resent the fact that the rooms were cheaper than normal (I can't figure out how they get the high rates in the summer, maybe they hire different people and paint the rooms.) Don't bother with this one.

We signed into our King deluxe room -- $375/night -- and were surprised to see a shabby old bathroom scale on the bathroom floor. Also, the room was much smaller than we had expected it would be -- the furniture made it seem very crowded. The staff at the hotel are friendly and competent, but we've had more spacious, equally luxurious, accommodations for significantly less money in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

“Great Getaway”

Stayed at the POW for a weekend to celebrate my birthday. All aspects of the stay were first class. I had originally booked a Queen room as that was all that was available but upon check in, we were upgraded to a King suite. To my surprise, the price per night was also lower than I had originally booked.
The valet parking staff also double as shuttle drivers and they were knowledgable, courteous and friendly.
Didn't eat at the hotel as the prices seemed a bit high so cannot comment on that.
Overall, a great experience and am looking forward to my next stay.

“Had a wonderful time at the Prince of Wales”

The entire hotel is beautiful - from the rooms to the restaurants to the grounds. The hotel and restaurant staff was very, very nice and helpful. We received a free upgrade. Our dinner was pretty good. Breakfast was just fair. Afternoon tea was exceptional. For overall value I'd rate our stay very good. If the price of our stay was $125-$150 less I'd rate it excellent, as the hotel and restaurant are somewhat overpriced. So the value isn't there. Next time we stay overnight, we'll try somewhere else.

“Perfection in Every Way”

This is the second time I have stayed at Prince of Wales in the last few years and I still give this hotel top marks. It is situated right in the thick of things in town, which appeals to me greatly. I drove from Toronto and on arriving, was immediately booked into my room, although I arrived early. The doormen and valets were so unbelievably efficient on each occasion I needed them. Their vans shuttled me to and fro the theatres and the sister properties, Queen's Landing and Pillar and Post. Yes, the standard rooms are small, but remember, this is not some high-rise hotel; it is a vintage inn of the highest caliber. The rooms are incredibly gorgeous and pristine. The attention is so personal. I purchased a dinner-breakfast package which was so reasonable, and had my choice of three properties. I chose their sister property, Queen's Landing, for dinner. The meal was indescribably amazing and comparable to the finest cuisine I have eaten in France: foie gras, filet of beef, etc. Niagara wines are astonishingly good, so while the wine menu is vast, I chose those to drink. My servers were so attentive and obviously well-trained. Breakfast the next morning was back at Prince of Wales, and was above average, although not of the same mind-blowing quality as dinner the previous night. Although it seems as if everyone is "coupled" or with their children, I was alone on this occasion and still was treated as royalty. I will return again and again to this very special place.
