This is the second time I have stayed at Prince of Wales in the last few years and I still give this hotel top marks. It is situated right in the thick of things in town, which appeals to me greatly. I drove from Toronto and on arriving, was immediately booked into my room, although I arrived early. The doormen and valets were so unbelievably efficient on each occasion I needed them. Their vans shuttled me to and fro the theatres and the sister properties, Queen's Landing and Pillar and Post. Yes, the standard rooms are small, but remember, this is not some high-rise hotel; it is a vintage inn of the highest caliber. The rooms are incredibly gorgeous and pristine. The attention is so personal. I purchased a dinner-breakfast package which was so reasonable, and had my choice of three properties. I chose their sister property, Queen's Landing, for dinner. The meal was indescribably amazing and comparable to the finest cuisine I have eaten in France: foie gras, filet of beef, etc. Niagara wines are astonishingly good, so while the wine menu is vast, I chose those to drink. My servers were so attentive and obviously well-trained. Breakfast the next morning was back at Prince of Wales, and was above average, although not of the same mind-blowing quality as dinner the previous night. Although it seems as if everyone is "coupled" or with their children, I was alone on this occasion and still was treated as royalty. I will return again and again to this very special place.
