Our two day stay at the Britaly B&B turned out to be the perfect get away. We were warmly welcomed by Aldo and Graham with a tour of the house and garden. The English Room is charmingly decorated complete with fireplace and a window overlooking the beautiful back garden. The fountain can be heard through the bedroom window. Our hosts had thought of every thing to make our stay comfortable. Turn down service in the evening complete with chocolates on the pillow and a menu of the following mornings delicious breakfast. Two other couples shared the house with us for the weekend, one of the couples, repeat visitors and obviously very fond of our hosts and Rufus the very gentle and quiet Yellow Lab. The house is a short distance from Queen Street and the theater. Aldo and Graham made excellent suggestions for dining out. I would stay with the Britaly Boys again and again when visiting the area.

As a tourist in a popular tourist location, it’s very easy to feel depersonalized - an anonymous person in an endless procession of others just the same as you. So it is with considerable delight that one discovers Britaly B&B as a way to lose that “tourist feeling”.
Located on a quiet residential street on the edge of town but still just a 5-minute drive, at most, from the centre of town, Britaly offers everything you could wish for in a B&B experience. Graham and Aldo are friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts. The house is very well maintained and tastefully decorated with fine furnishings and lots of art. We were in the English Ensuite (all the rooms are on the upper level) and enjoyed a lovely bedroom overlooking the garden, with a very comfortable bed, a fireplace with remote control, more than enough seating, and a full ensuite bathroom.
Tea and coffee were provided upstairs in the early morning, and the bar fridge on the upper level was stocked with water. We also had use of the guest lounge (living room) and dining room for a wonderful homemade breakfast that functions more like a brunch, as well as the garden with fish pond and deck.
What makes all these details hang together, beyond their individual value, is that Graham and Aldo seem to genuinely enjoy the business of making their guests feel comfortable, happy and “at home”. Thank you Graham, Aldo and Rufus, the exceedingly well-mannered labrador retriever, for knowing what is appreciated by your guests and doing it with skill, dedication and enthusiasm.

We spent our first anniversary at the Britaly for three nights. This was by far the best experience we have had at a bed and breakfast. To begin, the hosts are exceptional at making everyone comfortable. Second, the home is lovely inside and welcoming too. The gardens are amazing, and our bed was really comfortable. They have put great effort into decorating the home down to the last detail. Breakfast each morning was fantastic. The hosts went out of their way to make sure we had exactly what we needed for a memorable stay. For example, they noticed my husband picking the mushrooms out of his puffed pastry the first morning. "We need to know that!" We were told, and the next day, everyone's yummy breakfast had mushrooms in in except my husband's. It is obvious that the owners of this B & B love what they do, and oh do they do it well (I even got their recipe for homemade granola!)! On a final note, we rented bikes as town is just a quick bike ride away. It was a lovely way to see Niagara on the Lake and to avoid any issues with parking in town. We will back to the Britaly, and we will recommend it to all our friends!

Don't let the suburban look fool you - Britaly is one fantastic B&B. The hosts, Graham, Aldo, and Rufus (the dog) know how to do it right. During our one night visit, we felt truly welcome and relaxed. In addition, I feel that we made new friends that we'll want to visit again and again. Britaly is beautifully decorated, meticulously clean, and lushly landscaped. Although we stayed in the English room, each of the rooms had their own charm and would warrant a visit. Our stay was topped off with an excellent breakfast. Do yourself a favor and check it out on your next visit to the area.
