This was just what my husband and I needed: peace and quiet, good food and natural surroundings. We were able to take advantage of all that Niagara on the Lake has to offer and then retreat back to the B and B for wine and food on our patio. We had the place to ourselves, but even if that were not the case, the rooms are spacious and the property full of interesting places to retreat to. I especially enjoyed the gardens and the hens. Jane and Brian are the most accommodating of hosts: the breakfast was phenomenal, and information about places to go, especially those that are not as popular, was very useful!

We would recommend this B&B because of the privacy as the 2 guest rooms are separate from the hosts living quarters, with a shared kitchenette for the guest rooms. It was also nice to have your own private living area within each guest room as well as a private deck, perfect for enjoying a glass of wine after dinner. The breakfasts were delicious, hosts gracious and the gardens and chickens charming. Will definitely visit again.

Four-night stay was our first time at Applewood. Went with another couple/family so we had place to ourselves. All-in-all great experience. So much positive to say. We loved the true country breakfasts (wow), beautiful gardens, live chickens to add some entertainment, the great conversation with Jane on a wealth of topics and the help/recommendations she offered to make our trip as easy and pleasant as possible. Awesome location in heart of vineyards and peach trees. We've traveled all around and stayed in a number of a bed & breakfasts; this one was certainly memorable.

What a fantastic experience. We only stayed one night, but wish it could have been a week. The property was lovely and just as advertised. Meticulously clean, comfortable beds, so many little details that all work together to create an experience, not just a place to stay. Jean is a terrific hostess and chef! I can't imagine a better B&B in this area.
