I read and had really good reviews on the hotel but the only thing I like about this hotel is the girl at the front desk ( extremly helpful and nice) and the bed. The first room we had was really dark and small, so we asked to have another room. The rooms are really small and I don't like the design ( and I usually love modern minimalism). The girl at the front desk is the only one in the staff that actually smiled and helped us. We also heard the other guests in their rooms. Also, when we call and we choose the french option, I'm expecting that the person on the phone can actually speak french ( wich it wasn't the case). If you still wanna go there.... don't take the room 414....

I have stayed at several different hotels while visiting Ottawa and decided to give Arc a try after reading some favourable press about it some time ago. I was very disappointed with my experience there. The Classic Queen Room was quite small - moreso than I would have expected at the price I paid. Additionally, the noise from adjoining rooms - regular level things like television and normal phone conversation was unacceptable.

I would not recommend Arc to other travelers - if you are looking for a good boutique hotel, look elsewhere.

Great place, stayed there for a week after travelling from ireland for a freinds wedding. well worth it, good food, great staff, very freindly. and well situated to the centre of downtown ottawa. would stay there again in a heart beat. stayed in a luxury room, extra big and comfortable bed,well worth the extra cash

Stayed here for a few days in the middle of June. The hotel is in a good location, everything we wanted to see was easily walkable (the war museum was a good half hour walk though). On arrival we were given a chocolate and a glass of sparkling wine at reception.

The room was nicely furnished, and the bedsheets were superb.....and thats not something I ever thought I would comment on.

The air conditioning was VERY noisy though and I couldnt really get the room to stay at the temperature we wanted. Turning it off at night wasnt really an option as the temperature in the room soared to 26deg C +. Dont know why it got so hot, it certainly wasnt that warm outside. Perhaps this is something most people are used to though. We dont have/need AC in Scotland

Breakfast was nice enough. We paid the extra tariff to have breakfast included. I think this is normally lumped in with parking. It isnt really fully included though which was quite annoying. We paid something like $8 a day each to get $15 of credit each, this wasnt enough to cover a lot of the things on the menu. They should just say "any item off the menu with a coffee and fruit juice" That would make more sense and be much less annoying.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. I would recommend the arc.
