We have mixed feelings about this hotel. When we arrived the staff was wonderful and very helpful. The room, a 1 bedroom suite, was very large and had a nice kitchenette. The beds (& pillows) were extremely comfortable and it was very quiet at night for sleeping. Complimentary breakfast was included with a waffle machine which the kids enjoy. The location was perfect for us, about a 10 min. walk to Parliament. There is also a Tim Hortons on site open 24hr. Starbucks at the corner. There was a great italian restaurant and a deli walking distance on Elgin St.
However, when we went to the pool it was very dirty. The water was very murky & cloudy and you could not see to the bottom. The paint was peeling on the steps and on the bottom of the pool. When my daughters took their arms out of the water, there was lots of hairs on them! Unfortunately, they went in the hot tub but came out quickly because they told me it stunk. As another person had mentioned previously, there was brown scum in it. When I complained to management I was told there was probably alot of swimmers before them. I told them I had never encountered this problem elsewhere. When I received our bill for 3 nights, I was overcharged for the first night. I was travelling with a senior and was supposed to have the senior rate, that is how it was booked. I did book directly with the hotel. I was also not told this when I checked in. I spoke with the manager who told me that rate was not available on that date and I should have been informed. However she did adjust my bill accordingly. I find this ridiculous that the senior rate could not be available for a senior. What could have been a perfect stay ended up disappointing. Needless to say, we did not swim in the pool for the rest of our trip.
