This B&B has an excellent location, walking distance to downtown Ottawa’s government buildings, museums, and restaurants. Siri and Harimandir are very friendly and helpful, treating their guests like visiting friends. Breakfasts are healthy and generous. Beautiful historic house has sunny, pleasant rooms.

As a family of 5, it is often difficult to find affordable accomodations for all of us in one room. Natural Choice Bed & Breakfast had a wonderful large, clean room where we all fit in very nicely. We all enjoyed the nightime interaction and reviewing our busy days together before nodding off to sleep in this very quiet neighborhood. The location is a major attribute as it is close to any major attraction. The children really enjoyed playing with Cici the kitten and Beau the dog. The owners, Siri and Hari are simply a delight to chat with. We would have enjoyed a bit more variety for breakfast ie: choice of several fruit, different cereals etc. but considering the extensive renovations going on at the time, perhaps it wasn't practical at this time.

This is my personal opinion based on my two nights' stay at this establishment two years ago. Unless things have been dramatically upgraded since my visit (no indication of this from photos on their web site) , there is no way this establishment could be rated as the #1 B and B in Ottawa. If I were an owner of a good quality B and B in Ottawa I would take exception to this #1 ranking.

I have stayed at B and B's in Canada, UK and Ireland and can honestly say this was my worst experience with a B and B.
Whilst I would hesitate to use the word "dirty", I will say that I was uncomfortable with the level of hygiene. I am a pet lover but feel that in an establishment such as a B and B, pets should not be allowed to wander freely into guests' bedrooms. Each time one opened the bedroom door the cat was waiting outside, trying to get in. The rooms were drab and sparse, the bed linens were old and stained, with cat hairs all over.

Early morning produced a horrendous racket from a very messy and not so clean kitchen - no, I wasn't snooping - one couldn't help but notice while passing to come to the dining room.

Breakfast consisted of being presented with two bowls, two mugs and spoons placed on the table, with a box of Kleenex to be used as napkins, a box of President's Choice cereal and some juice. None of the wonderful fresh fruit that is promised on the website. The most disturbing aspect of this was the owner serving coffee and toast whilst continuously running his hands through his beard.

I am not a difficult to please person and as a rule try not to criticize. However, I felt compelled to share my experience after reading ten "wonderful" reviews, posted over a short period of time, following a very negative review that has since been removed, Incidentially, I would fully concur with that review.

I stayed in this hotel for three nights. I enjoyed my stay there. The owners of the hotel are lovely couple, very compassionate and friendly people. You will have an homely atmosphere feeling. I got a free upgrade room and they took good care of me. I strongly recommend this hotel for anyone who would like to spend their time in ottawa. Moreover it is walking distance to many restaurants and close to the U.S. Embassy. You can have a good time.
