My fiance and I stayed at the Days Inn for one night. We went to Windsor for the night to celebrate a friends 30th birthday at Papa Cheneys. We did not have reservations, and they were good about getting us a room.
We knew the hotel wasn't the classiest, but we also knew we just needed a place to sleep. Well, first off, our room was missing a comforter on the bed, and had dirty sheets rolled up on the dresser. We thought that was kinda weird, so we started looking around the room more. I also noticed that the air conditioner had just been painted. Yes, wet paint (which, by the way when I turned on the a/c to get some air, stunk up the whole room with paint fumes).
So. just as i'm realizing I now have brown paint all over my finger, the door bursts open , with no warning, and in walk two maids. They apologized and then told us that they never should have given us this room since they were not finished cleaning it, which was apparent. So, whatever, that was fine, they were nice and very apologetic. They took the dirty sheets and put the comforter back on the bed and left.
Now, my fiance and I are very patient and tolerable people. We rarely ever complain about anything. Those little things, to us, were no big deal. But this was the last straw.....On our floor some fraternity was staying the night as well. They were loud during the day, I mean we're talkin doors open, yelling, running around, etc....But, whatever right, it was still early in the day, again no big deal. So, we went out, came back from the bar around 1am, only to find that the Days Inn had turned into Spring Break in Cancun. Kids were drinking, boys were yelling, the girls were screaming, they were running around, slamming their doors and banging on walls etc. I called down to the front desk twice only to be told they had no security, and they are aware of the problem. So front desk offered no solution. We got no sleep whatsoever, and what little sleep we did manage to get, was disturbed early in the morning to some sort of contruction/repair in the hallway. We opened our door to find all sorts of debris all over, cardboard matts on the carpets, and stuff ripped down from the walls.
SOOO, long story short, we payed 134$ to stay in a dirty frat house. We should have just slept in the car.
FYI: Like most of the reviews here, if you're 18 and you're looking for a hotel to party in and be annoying without getting kicked out: Days Inn is for you. You can drink all you want, slam doors, yell at all hours of the night, and do god knows what else and no one seems to care.
But, if you're looking for a place to get some if any type of sleep, shell out the extra money for a room at the Hilton.
