We stayed at the Bonaparte as our first stop on our cross Canada trip a few weeks ago and after a 6 hour flight we received a great welcome.
The room was comfortable and the jacuzzi in the bathroom felt very luxurious ! Our room looked onto the gardens at the back of the Basilique Notre-Dame and it was less than 5 minutes walk to the Basilica itself.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, even printing out maps for us when we were asking for driving directions to the Oratory St Joseph. Parking was just across the street and although this was our first taste of valet parking and we were slightly nervous about leaving the rental car we left it all in the capable hands of the staff.
A particular highlight was the meal we ate in the hotels restaurant on the evening we arrived. As people who like good food and eat out regularly we were overwhelmed by how great this was. It was a little pricey but if you're happy to fork out then I'd suggest the Lobster Stew and Profiteroles - we're still talking about that meal now ! Breakfast consisted of a choice of continental breakfast and various cooked dishes e.g. omlettes, etc and was included in the price of the room.
Apart from anything else this hotel is in a great location in Old Montreal, you're literally seconds from a lot of bustling restaurants, bars and the hive of activity that is Place Jacques-Cartier.
Oh, and if you're a smoker like myself the small roof terrace provides a great view of Old Montreal whilst you're having a puff !
