I resided in the Quality many times during business trips to the Montreal airport area. I wanted a Hotel close to the airport, with a shuttle service (didn't want to rent a car) and I also wanted a Hotel that is not discriminating smokers. In my opinion a Hotel must provide a pleasant environment for both, smokers and non-smokers. I totally agree with all public areas being non-smoking (lobby, restaurant, bar, etc) but smoking rooms should be available for those who prefer them. The Quality offered that exact environment at the time and I was very pleased during all my stays there.
The first time I checked in on a Sunday, and as it so often is the case, the first impression is a lasting one. My first impression was made by a very pleasant front desk experience. I was greeted by a friendly check-in agent that was paying attention to me, added by many smiles and serving me as a guest in a very qualified and satisfying way. I think her name was Neila. Should you deal with her there you will surely know what I mean.
The rooms were good and clean and provided everything I needed. A plate with chocolate and my name written on it was a nice touch. Internet is free (not common anymore) which is a big pro in my book. It was a stable connection, only one of my many nights there they had a problem with it. The room and front desk service was always very responsive.
A big plus of the Quality is the free shuttle service. All companies located in the airport area are on their schedule if you ask for it. You make an appointment in the evening and they drive you there in the morning. They picked me up in the evening too and they even shuttled me back and forth to the closest Metro station when I wanted to go down town.
After several stays in the Quality I felt like coming "home" whenever I stayed there again. The staff recognized me and made me feel special. What more can you ask for.
The only thing to "complain" about is that the welcome drink the offer to all guests is a glas of sparkling wine only. Not liking sparkling wine at all I tried to get a glas of beer instead - to no success. Not a big deal of course but it kind of became a running gag whenever I checked in. Well, sometimes I was at least rewarded with a smile of that check-in girl I mentioned above.
The Quality is a good choice in my opinion if you need a lot of value for your money and if you need to stay close to the airport.
The Quality had smoking rooms when I was there. Ask for one if you prefer.

We are very appreciative for the great feedback, however the management of the hotel had decided that it would be better to convert the hotel to a 100% Non Smoking, which we already did a month ago.

We still book our smoking guests in rooms close to the side entrance, where we have a sheltered area outside the hotel dedicated for smoking , this way we maintain the rooms always smelling fresh while still allowing our smoking guests to smoke outside
