Recently (July 2005) my wife and I went to Montreal for our 1st Wedding Anniversary, we descided to go with the better value hotel and have more money to spend on attractions. The Hotel Latin was great for the price, the rooms are small, well very small, but it was fine being a place we would just sleep. Being one of few cheaper hotels in Montreal that have private bathrooms, it was okay. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast in the morning was okay as well. A few things I would have enjoyed seeing from this hotel would be automatic locking doors, if your used to doors that close and lock, you have to remember to lock the door with the key at this hotel, an elevator ( it wasnt so fun lugging lugauge up three flights of stairs) and assigned parking, If you park behind someone then you have to leave your keys with the front desk in order for them to be able to move incase they need to let someone out. I didnt feel so comfortable leaving my keys with someone I didnt know. But there were no problems at all. Besides that this would be a great deal for new couples, I wouldnt suggest more than two to a room. Also if you go in July you'll get the treat of the Just for Laughs Festival, its right on the front steps of the Hotel, well the street right outside, but we didn't have to go anywhere for the action, this was a big plus. So if your looking for a multilingual, descent hotel in the heart of Montreal and only minuetes from the popular attractions (biodome, biosphere, tower, botanical gardens, and Old Montreal; I would highly recommend the horse drawn carraige tour) this is a great deal.
