Took advantage of the Montreal Sweet Deal Package which offered 50% off the second night accomodation as well as gift cards for a shopping mall, a present from Fruits and Passions and a buffet breakfast.

The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of most areas of Montreal. Other popular hotel chains are also within the same block.

The hotel is nothing too special although the staff made check-in, check-out and overall comfort a worthy hotel for the class and price point.

My friend and I reserved a king bed suite which was spacious and clean. The free interenet was handy in making plans for seeing Montreal sites. The TV in the living room was not always reliable although the TV in the bedroom worked fine. We didn't go to Montreal to watch TV anyway but it is always good for background noise. Our room was on the 5th floor (I think) with a decent view of the mountain. No in-room safe was a drawback however the inroom fridge that wasn't stocked allowed us to store beverages and food.

The buffet breakfast, which was included in the sweet deal package, was amazing. A large selection of hot and cold food satiated our morning appetite and I think we skipped lunch both days as we were still full from breakfast. A worthwhile option for lunch is Schwartz's Deli on Rue St. Denis. Just look for the lineup and stand and wait. Best sandwich I ever ate.

the sheraton four points is a 3 star, and is what you would expect from a 3 star, but i have stayed in higher quality hotels with the same rating.

somethings to consider before booking here:

from the rooms you could here:

1 - the lifts
2 - the metal stairways
3 - the person showering next door

and the hairdryer did not work in the room.

the bathroom was incredibly small, but the bed comfortable and the rooms clean.

this is a budget hotel and i would only recommend staying here if you are travelling on one!

The hotel was clean and tidy, the rooms were exellent and the beds are huge and very comfortable.
The hotel is located in downtown montreal, very close to shops and resturants. There is a Tim Hortons coffee shop right across the street which serves good coffee and doughnuts and the best thing is it is 24 hours.
Downtown Montreal is easliy walked and the hotel is conveinetly situated close to all amentites.
There is one negative point to this city there is alot of poor people living rough on the streets so be aware when you walk outside the hotel be ready to give out your loose change.

I feel compelled to pen a review in light of what the previous reviewer has written. My family and i stayed here in the third week of October 2007 and cannot equate the hotel to the review. We had two rooms on the twelfth floor, one overlooking Rue Sherbrooke and the other overlooking Mont Royale. Both rooms were cleaned well every day.The maid left plenty of towels and the bathrooms, although small and slightly dated, were spotless. The rooms were adequately sized with two comfy queen beds and a profligacy of pillows. There was a fridge in each room and tea and coffee making facilities. The television had forty channels split between English and French speaking channels.Free wifi access and free safe deposit boxes were also available and it was possible to use the pool and leisure facilities at the neighbouring Delta Hotel free of charge.
During the seven nights we stayed the staff were never less than courteous.Yes, they do speak predominantly French(Montreal is a French speaking city) but everyone also spoke English also. The location of the hotel is very good. Two blocks to downtown,Mont Royale park an invigorating walk just behind and McGill University one block away.As the hotels Delta,Marriott, Quality and a new Hilton being built opposite are on the same block all the pedestrians are either students or tourists-hardly a doubtful area.
The hotel has a restaurant and adjoining coffee shop and there is a Tim Horton's just across the street.
Having travelled extensivey throughout the USA and Canada for the last 15 years we found this hotel perfecly pleasant for our stay and completely unrecognisable from the previous review.Canadian Affair have it at £46 per room per night-a bargain at Montreal prices and we thought very good value for money.

“What a dive!”

This hotel should be condemned and torn down. To begin with, we were misled by the pretty pictures and description on the hotel's website. This property is in a 'questionable' part of town and that negative arrival impression only gets worse once you walk in the front door.

The front desk staff was snobby (French) and uninformed about how to get places. The hotel is old and in disrepair. No more than two people with one bag each will fit in the elevator.

The room rieks of urine and is dirty. I will tell you that a person with dark hair - both head and pubic - was here before me. The bathroom was tiny and filthy. Toilet paper was suitable for dual use as sandpaper.

Called the front desk for a wake up call at 11PM and nobody answered. After a full five minutes of no answer, I just figured out how to use the alarm clock.

The windows of the hotel were last washed during the Johnson administration. The hotel gift shop is a vending machine in the lobby. The in-room menu was a poor photocopy and it too was dirty - great diet material, we had lost our appetite after being in the room for ten minutes.

If you are OK with YMCA-style conditions (or worse), you may be OK with this hotel. Otherwise - trust me on this - find an alternate hotel in Montreal. This place should be demolished.

One word will sum it up: GROSS!
