Our friends were enthused to share "the best Chinese food in Montreal", and so we perhaps expected too much. The menus presented to us were not clean, the selections were unimaginative, and after sampling many dishes, nothing particularly shone. The shrimp toast is very thick and nice, the vegetables in bird's nest excellent, the rest very local Chinese delivery quality. Hot and sour soup was so overspiced no one could eat it (and we love spicy food). Virtually untouched soup bowls, and no one inquired if there was a problem. One of the desserts bears the name of a local, highly esteemed businessman but our waiter could not tell us the connection or the ingredients. We agreed our favorite part was the very friendly and efficient valet parking man. Next time we'll get him to park the car and then duck into the excellent French Bistro across the street.
