We got a great deal ($170US) for our "Moderate" room, on new years weekend. It was a courtyard-view room on the 4th floor but it was a corner room so it felt like we got a suite because of the separate living room area with couch. By upgrading $50 for the city view, or $100 for the river view, I don't think we would've gotten a corner room, rather something just the size of the living area. The bathroom had a broken faucet handle that needed to be pushed in right to work, and turned the wrong way. The main door to the room didn't close very well either. The bed and furniture was comfortable but not 4 star quality. Overall, the grandeur of this beautiful hotel gives it the 4 stars, but the comfort of the rooms are more like 3 star quality. I still feel like we got our money's worth just to have been able to stay here for that price, it was definitely a memorable experience. The parking for guests is $26CAN/night, and a tour of the hotel is $8CAN per person. The location is right in the center of the old town, with the Funiculare (outdoor elavator) right next to it running down to the lower town. It's about a 5-10 min walk to Rue St. Jean where are the major stores are. The Terrasse Dufferin (wooden boardwalk) runs right alongside it, with beautiful views of the St. Lawrence River.
