I've been to 4 wave pool resorts, and Amana ranked no. 3 on my list.
Heres the reason why:
What impressed me:
Their life sized characters are great for picture taking, if you love posting pictures on fb, this is a place for you. Personally, I like the shrek house its nice and the justice league too, but I haven't seen the 100 characters their boasting on their website.
Waves are good, it runs continously for almost 2 hrs, so you'll have adequate time to enjoy it, the diamond wave is funtastic. Zipline, 4D max rider and the horseback riding were all a plus factor but with a seperate fee.
Even though it's a peak season, I did not spend longer hours in paying our entrance fee. They have huge parking area, and the resort is big enough to handle many guests. They have nice cottages and it is all neatly arranged, we rented the Tagaytay cottage which is made of wood for only 800, it's near the wave pool, shower room and washing area. You can also bring all the food and water that you want except for beverages. Free cart service is also available to carry your things in and out of the resort.
What disgusts me:
All pools in Amana are very dirty, yes there were many people during peak season, but management should find ways to maintain the pool's cleanliness.
Proper swimwear attire are not implemented, sleepers and sandals are scattered inside the wave pool area, that's why it's full of mud.
My son and one of my nephew suffer from vomiting the next day.
There's no enough shower rooms, and they don't have lights, even in broad day light, shower rooms and toilet cubicle are very dark.
The air smells like a pig's pen, it's terrible. Specially in the food court area and the yellow slide pool.
Still no 1 for me is the Club Manila East, 2nd is the 8 Waves, then the least is the 9 Waves in San Mateo.
