We got a reasonable rate on a bed and breakfast package, but got very little sleep due to the proximity of the train tracks - at times, it felt like the train was going right through our suite! A little rundown, and the maid service somewhat lacking - the bottom sheets on our beds weren't tucked in, so we ended up remaking them.

The staff we encountered were uniformly pleasant. When we arrived at the Gasthaus restaurant for our breakfast, we found that we were too late for the meal; however, given it was Sunday, we were automatically upgraded to an excellent brunch starting 1/2 hour later.

I booked a top suite at Chateau Canmore and was more than dissapointed.
I understand that hotels like to 'talk up' their rooms over the phone, but I feel I was lied to. My rustic mountain view was train tracks and a construction yard and the only thing 'spacious' about the room was the king sized bed. When I expressed my concern, as this was a special occasion, my rate was droped by $30 a night. This was appriciated but it did make up for a dissapointing trip to Canmore. If your only stoping overnight, the hotel is okay, but if you're looking for a getaway, stay away from the Chateau Canmore.

Would not recommend this resort. Service is poor to say the least. Very noisy at night as the hotel is adjacent to a busy rail line. Not much concern from management about their customers. So much for their 100% satisfaction guaranty.
