“Deffinately has problems”

The rooms are large but simple, deffinately on the noisy side from the constant traffic of the hwy. We stayed 4 nites 3 of which the water pump broke. No shower, cooking water or hot tub. Each nite we were told it would be fixed the next day, so we stayed. In the end we were only offered $50 as compensation. The staff was not very helpful and I would not stay there again.

“Great Property, Excellent Value, Friendly Staff”

Excellent value. Banff Boundary Lodge is located a couple miles from Canmore off Trans-Canada 1 just outside the entrance to Banff National Park. The property has easy access to the 4 lane for the park and to Canmore. We rented a two bedroom apartment. Two king beds, a full kitchen, a gas fireplace, and views of the Rockies. There is a Safeway and a Sosby's grocery store in Canmore. Martin, the on-site manager, provided excellent recommendations on wildlife viewing...we saw tons of elk on the golf course and the lake loop road, his favorite local brew...Broke Rock or something like that.....and even made available a computer for checking flight info from Calgary back to the States. We are planning on returning this next summer for a week's stay and will book at the Banff Boundary Lodge.

We stayed 5 nights at this hotel in mid of September, were not happy with our room because it was kind of run down, smelly and dirty, thus we asked for room change. My wife had checked at least 5 of them and finally chose one less dirty (but it's still not quiet acceptable!!). We had to clean up the room all by ourselves and called the front desk for any shorted items.

Put this aside, this hotel is located in a good place that you can easily access Canmore, Banff and the national parks.

If we were to reuturn the Rockies, we would look else where.

“Sorta good, sorta not”

Let me start by saying I have traveled extensively throughout North America and stayed in many, many hotels ranging from dumps to palaces.

Good location right on the park border. Upon check in our room was dirty. There were finger/toe nail clippings on the floor in the bedroom. It was obvious the room had not been cleaned very well. The tub/shower combo was on the grungy side. The drain in the tub drained very slowly so that you were standing in a pool of water by the end of a shower. Yuck!

A good sized condo type unit so space is a plus.

The hot tub was clean and a good part of the experience.

Summary: The place COULD be nice, but it feels kind of run down. Nice hotel rooms in Banff proper for about the same price. Wouldn't stay here again.

“Good location outside Banff but beware of ..”

traffic noise. Make sure that you get a room that is not facing the highway.

It is a nice place just outside of the East gate of Banff NP. The unit we have is on the second and third level (yes, two levels) facing HWY 1. There are traffic noisy from the early morning till rather late at night. (midnight) Next to the Highway is the train track.

You can imagine the noise if you are a light sleeper. On the upside, it's so close to Banff and yet you don't see all the tourist when you get back from your outting.
