My husband and I have just returned from an unforgetable weekend in Canmore, Alberta. We stayed at the Paintbox Lodge, where we were pampered for the entire duration of our stay. The fresh flowers in our suite, champage to sip in our oversized tub, goose-down bed...the list goes on.

There is a Spanish tapas restaurant (called Tapas)right on site, where we indulged in the best food, wine, and service you could imagine. We hiked along the river trails, which are just outside the front door. You can, of course take in your very own view of the mountains right from your suite.

We could not possibly say enough positive things about our stay at the Paintbox Lodge. You really should experience it for yourself.

Wife and I want to raise a glass and toast this spectacular property in the Rocky mountains. Small but
luxurious - simple but comprehensive - private yet personal - just what the doctor ordered. The attached restaurant was cozy, tastey and fun serving Spanish cuisine with a teriffic selection of wines. Great service and attention to detail throughout highlite this wonderful getaway spot. An experience to remember

Our stay was above and beyond expectation. The room and the main entrance had great personality. It is far different from any other bed and breakfast that I have stayed at. The room was cozy and inviting after a long day of skiing. The staff was more than willing to accomodate all of our needs. After the long day of skiing many don't want to walk far to find a restuarant making the tapas bar very conviently placed beside the hotel. The atmosphere of the restaurant allows for a wonderful dining experience. I would recommend this place to anyone who would like a relaxing and comfortable vacation.

“Overated and Not worth the Price”

This place is a disaster. The rooms are nice however, the floors were filty like they weren't cleaned in weeks. The 1st night we arrived the sheets on the bed had food crumbs and other peoples hair on them. The furnace makes a loud noise every 2 hours. The ownership claims it is 2 years old?? It hasn't been serviced would be my guess. The bathroom door squeaked like nobodys business. A can of Wd40 might do the trick. My room was cleaned at 4:30PM after a long day of skiing by the waitress at Tapas restaurant which is owned by the hotel. They offered me a bottle of champagne and to move my room but we chose not to move because this was the nicest room in the place and why should we be inconvienced. To top it off we were suppose to get breakfast with our room we walk over to Harvest restaurant, they were closed because the owners wife had a baby. Somebody could have notified us that this was happening. We should have been comped 1 night for all the mishaps. I spoke to the owner Gail she didn't seem to care. I told her to spend the night in room 33 and she would see what it was like. For the amount of money they charge the room should be flawless. The staff is overworked and non existent. Stay at the Bear and Bison Country INN where Lonny Middletown will show you what Canmore hospitality is all about. A far superior inn vs this overated dump.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Paintbox Lodge for 5 days early this month. What a pleasure. The facility is wonderfully kept - the towels are so thick that you lose yourself in them - the creams and bath products are of best quality. The rooms are spacious - some with fireplaces. And the feather beds are to die for. I've never had a better sleep! Thank you for everything - our stay was perfect.
