The Lodges was a great place to stay in Canmore. The Aveda bath products, the pool, the loft, the fully stocked kitchen and the stone fireplace really made it great for us.

It's a quiet location but just a 7 minute walk into town. We had a nice dinner, went dancing, canmore has great nightlife, fantastic shopping and amazing restaurants, not to mention the outdoor activities all around.

We didn't want the retail aspect of Banff, we didn't want the 4 hour drive to Fairmount, it was a great hotel and perfect location for a wonderful anniversary.

Stayed in a loft apartment in the newer building at The Lodges for the second year running. Our 2 bed suite faced south west and gave us wonderful views of The Rockies. The rooms were spacious and extremely well furnished. The beds in both rooms were big and wonderfully comfy with TV's in both bedrooms as well as the lounge.
Although the suite had a fully fitted kitchen and BBQ we ate out most of the time as the restaurants in Canmore served some of the best meals we have ever tasted. The staff at The Lodges were very friendly and helpful and our two boys loved the pool while we enjoyed the hot tubs.
Some members have criticised the lack of air con. The weather was hot and sunny during both stays and we didn't find it a problem when inside as there is air conditioning in the hallways and they provided fans in the rooms.
We loved our stay in Canmore and hope to return sometime.

We stayed in a 2-bedroom loft suite at the Lodges for 2 nights last month, and the experience was pretty positive. On-line reservations were a breeze, and check-in was fast and efficient. The suite was clean, and the pictures that they post on their website are pretty accurate. The children in our group enjoyed the pool, while the older ones relaxed in the hot tub.

However, as one poster before me mentioned, the loft bedroom does tend to get pretty warm, even with the ceiling fan running 24/7. There is a small window that you can open, but even though the outside temperature was getting chilly at night, there was not much cross ventilation, and the room barely cooled down. We had to turn off the table lamps because they were adding to the heat! I can just imagine how hot it must get in the middle of summer! All rental suites have NO airconditioning.

Sobeys and Safeway are close by, if you decide to use the fully-equipped kitchen and barbeque grill on the patio. Very useful when travelling with young children. Will stay here again, but maybe not in the loft suites anymore.

I had stayed at the "Lodges at Canmore" several years ago and considered it good value for the money, this trip however I found it lacking especially with all the choices of new condo's in Canmore. The whole facility is starting to look worn and is in dire need of some paint and TLC. In our unit 3212 the rug was dirty and stained the wall were covered in fingerprints and the whole unit needed a paint job. The hallways were quite beat up and the pool area was a little grubby as well. I am going back to Canmore in June but will not be returning to the " Lodges" we will be staying at Mystic Springs and I will post a review after our stay.
