We're pretty easy-going travellers, but we were appalled at the condition of our room at Revelstoke Lodge. Don't be fooled by their promises of renovations - trust us. The carpet was stained and filthy, the bathroom baseboards had unidentifiable growth on them, and the desk chair had God knows what running down the legs. We're not sure why they use sheets that are dark burgundy, and we don't want to think about it too much. The workmanship was shoddy, to put it nicely, with battered walls and a bathroom countertop that was falling apart. The room was dark and dingy, and the door had a gap at the bottom that wasn't such a big deal in summer, but would be brutal in winter. We could also hear every step of the people above us. They have a pool all right, but no water in it. it wouldn't be so bad if this was a cheap motel, but we paid $130 (taxes included) for one night.
