This lodge is over 100 years old and the location is beautiful. The attached restaurant and deck are nice and the food is good. The lodge itself was awful! The building is falling apart with broken windows, rotting floors and is badly in need of maintenance. There are a bunch of rooms for rent upstairs for around $40 a night. It seemed like that was a great deal since it was above a restaurant but the rooms were dirty, the bed springs poked through the old mattress, the doors only locked from the inside, not from the outside and the the one bathroom down the hall had not been cleaned. The sheets were clean, thank goodness but most youth hostels are better than this. We have no knowledge of the cabins but stay away from the lodge rooms. The staff working there were quite nice, however.
