We were disappointed at not being able to take photos inside the buildings. Appart from that it is a lovely house set in beautiful country. There is a good deer herd with more than one species to look at wandering around the deer park as you drive up the long drive to the Abbey. There is a tale about the Dowager Duchess burying her favourite horse under a statue at the edge of a lake in the grounds -- a lovely tale. The statuary in the grounds leaves a lot to be desired but nonethless gives local artists a sounding board for their talent. A good day out if you can stand the sense of being an intruder.
