We arrived at the holiday inn for a hen party weekend. It is very conviniently situated by the train station - however is not so close to the 'walkable' water front which is about a 10-15 min walk. The hotel is below standard and very much a stag / hen weekend hotel.
Room was not very clean, with wall tiles and shower pipe falling / fallen off the wall. There was no extra bedding available and it was very cold at night time. Noise from other rooms was excessive .. Hearing the people above go to the toilet and late comers coming home - meant 2 nights of no sleep. Breakfast was your standard continental food - disappointed in the hot food as all was to offer was sausages, beans and scrambled egg .. No bacon or hash browns etc .. Toaster was unbelievably long with people giving up on waiting and merely having bread. The worst problem was the smell of drains .. It was horrifically bad! We had 6 rooms in total.. All on different levels and everyone of them had the same smell. I did let the receptionist know about the problem, however I do not feel it will be looked in to. Overall if you are looking for a cheap budget dorm - this is your place
