My partner and myself stayed at the Cadbury Hotel for a 4 night romantic getaway.
First impressions - A modern hotel with friendly staff - although we got the impression they weren't willing to go out of their way to help.
Prior to arrival we ordered a bottle of champayne for our room. This was waiting for us when we arrived, but it wasn't in a bucket of ice and was quite tepid.
We stayed in a deluxe double room which was facing to the back of the hotel. Upon booking we got the impression this would be overlooking beautiful forrests - this wasn't the case, there was just a few trees a few metres ahead blocking any view there might have been.
The room was "nice", although relatively small and not much wardrobe space for us as we were stopping for 4 nights.
On a number of occassions we failed to get into our room with the key card and on each occassion we returned to reception who re-swiped it and told us not to keep it near mobile phones, credit cards or in warm places.
I awoke at around 6am on most mornings due to the noise in the hotel - mainly the slamming of the heavy doors.
The hotel did have it's plus points such as good breakfast, room service and swimming pool (although you need to leave the main hotel area and walk outside to the club area). The hotel is also very clean.
Overall we were a little bit dissappointed as we felt the hotel mainly catered for business people as apose to young couples and therefore we would not stay at this hotel again. I have rated the hotel as above average as it is for business people - just not for a romantic break.
