My partner and myself stayed at the Cadbury Hotel for a 4 night romantic getaway.

First impressions - A modern hotel with friendly staff - although we got the impression they weren't willing to go out of their way to help.

Prior to arrival we ordered a bottle of champayne for our room. This was waiting for us when we arrived, but it wasn't in a bucket of ice and was quite tepid.

We stayed in a deluxe double room which was facing to the back of the hotel. Upon booking we got the impression this would be overlooking beautiful forrests - this wasn't the case, there was just a few trees a few metres ahead blocking any view there might have been.

The room was "nice", although relatively small and not much wardrobe space for us as we were stopping for 4 nights.

On a number of occassions we failed to get into our room with the key card and on each occassion we returned to reception who re-swiped it and told us not to keep it near mobile phones, credit cards or in warm places.

I awoke at around 6am on most mornings due to the noise in the hotel - mainly the slamming of the heavy doors.

The hotel did have it's plus points such as good breakfast, room service and swimming pool (although you need to leave the main hotel area and walk outside to the club area). The hotel is also very clean.

Overall we were a little bit dissappointed as we felt the hotel mainly catered for business people as apose to young couples and therefore we would not stay at this hotel again. I have rated the hotel as above average as it is for business people - just not for a romantic break.

I stayed at this hotel for one night in October. There was a computer problem on arrival which made check in challenging and the situation was not being handled particularly well by the staff.

I wanted the hotel to be amazing, however, the interior of the hotel is very grey, with stylised features and flashes of colour. The allocated room was a good size although the view wasn't up to much.

The shower and WC were sylish, fixed shower head, slate tiling. Good quality towels but could have been bigger in my opinion.

My main complaint was the noise in the room, it was intermittent but sounded like a fan rubbing against something (most annoying and kept me awake)

The breakfast was amazing - I especially loved the smoothies which were divine.

  • Liked — Fabulous pool and top notch breakfast.
  • Disliked — Nasty noise in the night

Stayed for three nights in September at the Cadbury whilst visiting Bristol.
The room was very good, with amazing views out over the countryside towards the Bristol channel. The bathroom was nicely appointed with a black granite style sink and shower.
Food in the restaurant was top class with the staff being friendly and attentive. Be aware though.. there are wines running over the 200 pound mark. !
We stayed over a weekend and a number of parties and events going on meant we were confronted by groups of highly spirited folks on our return most evenings. This was hardly a problem as the revelrys could not be heard from the room.
Not a cheap option, but they do look after you and nothing seems to be much trouble,

I recently had my wedding at Cadbury House and it was absolutely fantastic.
I stayed there on both the Friday and Saturday evenings. The staff were great when I checked in on the Friday night and assisted in carrying all of my bags.
The whole wedding day on the Saturday was amazing. The staff were very professional, extremely helpful and I could not have asked for more. On top of that, the food was AMAZING. We had 110 guests at our wedding and the 3 course dinner was superb. The evening buffet was also delicious.
My new husband and I will be visiting Cadbury House again very soon!

Stayed here for a night with work colleagues. Arrived late due to travel problems but receptionist very friendly and helpful.

Had a loft room with comfy bed, great soft sheets and pillows. Shower was great with big fluffy towels - nice bath products too. Not a lot of hanging space but was only there one night. Lift seemed slow in coming but a good excuse to use stairs!

Evening meal was very pleasant and breakfast tasty.

Hotel in nice grounds. Plane noise could become a big problem if Bristol airport expanded considerably.

Would stay again.
