Anyone wishing to stay in the Bristol area could not do better than to stay at East Harptree Court.
The approach to the house is down a long and most beautifully kept avenue of trees, and when the house comes into sight, it is joy to behold, a most elegant building set in magnificent and well-kept grounds.
Inside things are at the same standard.
We were met at the door by "Linda” a most attentive hostess who, after we had signed in, in the hall with its large open fire, conducted us to our room, the Lavender room, which was tastefully decorated and had everything in it for a guests comfort, right down to toothpaste and a sewing kit!
The bed was large and comfortable with quality "fittings" , Sheets , pillows and Duvet, No foam filled pillows here!, and the bath in the en-suite was to be remembered, with copious hot water available.
Despite our visit being during a cold snap, the whole building was beautifully warm, the open fire only complementing the central heating system.
Breakfast, the other part of B+B, was of the same high standard, with a large choice. Local eggs and Ham, and Marmalade, made by man of the house, Quite excellent, were all part of the feast. First class!
The village of East Harptree is a very pretty Somerset village and has the added advantage of having a "Pub" that serves much above average food. It is within easy walking distance of Harptee court, and on the night we visited, a Tuesday, it was hard to get a table. Apparently many people had come all the way from Bristol for the curry night.
To summarize then, a most pleasing experience.
East Harptree court is very special .I could not recommend it more highly.
