My husband and I just returned from a stay at Harptree Court.
We recommend it very highly. The historic house and its furnishings are gorgeous and provides a glimpse of what it was like to live in a manor house. The rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable. The owners are very helpful too.

The gardens are worth strolling through and are immaculately maintained. We just can't say enough good things about Harptree Court.

What can be said that is different to any of the other reviews about Harptree Court? This has to be close to perfection in a B & B.
Fantastic large room (Lavender Room); good sized bathroom with huge bath and copious hot water - modern shower cubicle also in bathroom (if I had one minor observation to make, it would be nice if the flow was a bit firmer but it should not be an issue for anyone!). The add-ons in the room and bathroom would put most hotels to shame (free spring water, fruit, chocolate etc.) Great bed
TV + DVD player + DVDs. Nearby lounge with free Wifi.
The breakfasts were superb - we had something different each day and it was all excellent!
Beautiful grounds - we went for a walk in the pouring rain and the waterfall was in full flow. On our last evening we sat out in the grounds with a bottle of wine looking at the superb country view - fantastic.
Linda & Charles are superb hosts - nothing is too much for them: lending umbrellas, Wellington Boots etc. etc. Linda even noticed I had a bad back and gave me a pack of Thermal wraps!!
When you are there make sure you also eat at The Pony and Trap in Chew Magna - fantastic food in a pub.
We will definitely go back!

“A true gem”

Harptree Court

30 May 2008

Five of us stayed at Harptree Court whilst cycling Land's End to John O'Groats and it surpassed all our expectations by miles. The warm friendly welcome, the beautiful tea awaiting our arrival, our own sitting room with wifi, the stunning rooms and a breakfast to die for. A must for anyone staying in the area. There are also excellent pubs nearby. All of us will revisit Harptree and make sure our stay is longer next time. Impossible to find fault - fantastic

Me and my boyfriend stayed at Harptree Court for a weekend away. It is absolutely lovely. You are warmly greeted by Linda and family when you arrive, we had freshly made scones, jam, cream and tea too.

We stayed in the Lavender Room which has the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The bathroom is clean and tidy with a selection of toiletries for your use.

There is a guest lounge with a selection of books for you to read. The room has a TV/DVD player with a selection of DVDs for you to watch - these are mainly ones that you get free with the Sunday papers.

The grounds are lovely and in the spring you can walk past the duck pond and see the little ducklings swimming around.

When you return you are provided with a thermos of milk for tea and coffee in your room.

Linda and family can be contacted by ringing a bell. They are gracious hosts and always willing to help.

Breakfast is freshly made and the guests are staggered so that you do not have to wait too long.

All in all this is a lovely place and I can't wait to go back.
