Three of us stayed in the family room overlooking the harbour which had a spacious ensuite shower room, wi-fi, small flat screen TV, wall-mounted hairdryer and the usual tea/coffee making facilities with a mini fridge (this is rather noisy so you might want to turn it off overnight if you are a light sleeper). The room was spacious enough for one or two nights but we probably wouldn't have wanted to stay longer as it would feel a little cramped. It was a ten minute walk to the harbour and the beach was also nearby, however we didn't have time to visit the latter.
Although our scores seem rather low in comparison to other reviews for Wellington House, we are basing them on places we have stayed previously. I didn't sleep well because the room and heavy feather duvet was far too warm for me personally and we are not used to sleeping with central heating but this may not be the case for other guests. The bed was also too soft and squeaked each time you turned over but again, this may not be a problem for others. Breakfast was served between 8-9.30am and there was plenty of choice including various cereals, yogurt, muffins, crumpets, pancakes, kippers and of course a full English/Cornish. The breakfast was nicely presented but if I'm totally honest was a little bland and tasteless (sorry!). Rosemary kindly lent us spare face cloths she keeps for guests (we didn't pack any because they are usually supplied wherever we have stayed previously) and also gave us a small jug of fresh milk for drinks as we really don't like the UHT cartons provided. We did say we would buy face cloths and milk in a local shop but she was happy to supply us with them. Unfortunately we only spoke to our hosts briefly on arrival/departure so didn't really get to know them as we only stayed one night and left straight after breakfast. Overall though, we had a nice stay which was convenient for our very short trip.
