“The Best little hotel in Cornwall”

Fieldhead Hotel

My daughter and I were so fortunate to discover this little gem of a hotel that sits high up on the hill overlooking the ocean in West Looe., Cornwall. The place is exceptionally well run; warm cozy duvet comforters on the bed , large bath towels, and great tea sampler for the evening after a long walk. The breakfasts were fabulous with more selections than i could have hoped for. Julian, the proprietor was extremely friendly and gave us terrific advice about walking the trail from Looe to Polpero, a 3 hour leisurely hike. Fantastik vistas and breathtaking colors and at the end a poet's dream of a fishing village nestled in a harbor. We took Julian's advice and tried all his recommendations from local fare to pubs-we were not disappointed. If it had been warmer we would have swam in the lovely pool there. Lovely room for reading and sitting and admiring the views. A perfect get away to relax and leave all your cares behind.

My fianceé and I stayed for a few nights over Easter.

The new terrace in the garden was fabulous with excellent views across the bay.

The room was spacious and very clean.

The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing!! We ate so much!

Trudy is so cute too.

Thanks very much Julian and staff for a great time!

“Unforgetable”

Impressed by the website and easy booking on line, we had high expectations of this hotel. After a 4 day stay, we came away agreeing
that it was the first hotel (of many visited) to which we would like to return. The welcoming feel of the place, the energy and
enthusiasm of the prorietor, his family and staff, the views from
the excellent restaurant, lounge and room, all made for a lovely
stay.

What a find! The welcome was warm and sincere, the host was gracious, our room was delightful and the food was absolutely fabulous! (Oh, and the view's not bad either - wow!) If you are looking for an affordable touch of class with outstanding customer service, this lovely hotel ticks all the boxes. When we found the Fieldhead Hotel it was the beginning of a very special memory - we have already booked a return trip later in the year to re-live it and we are looking forward to it already. . A two star hotel with a great big five star heart .... we have stayed in many hotels in lovely South Cornwall, but this one is probably one of the best if not THE best - especially located in beautiful West Looe. Go on, give it a go - we promise you won't be disappointed. It's not every day you find a jewel .........

I must say, after returning from a 3 month world travel adventure and looking back on our experiences, our stay at this hotel was a definite highlight. Julian and his staff (as well as Trudy the mascot pooch) were just wonderful. We felt very comfortable, ate exceptionally well and slept sound. Better value for money, we found no where else on our trip. This hotel definitely has got it right!
