After arriving at the sister hotel, which we had booked at was informed that the website should have contacted us because they were closed due to Building work (if this building work included the coach party that was parked outside the sister hotel for our weekend stay they must have been the tidiest builders this side of chrisindom!!!!!!)

The Hotel its self was great admitidly we went out of season, dont sugest you going if you need wheel chair access although the stanna stairlift to get you upstairs the flight of steps to get up to the entrance would have given mountain rescue a problem.

Parking out of season not a prob but god help you when you cant park on the double yellows 1st may - 30th sept.

Service was great breakfast was great, room was great could have been a bit warmer think they set the heating to not at night and not during anytime a guest is in it.

But in all as a guest house goes it was great, bar could have stayed open a bit longer but it was out of season.

And you cant fault the staff they went the extra mile every time we asked for something.

PS If your a smoker take a wind break cos it a bit windy on the smokers naughty courner terrace lol

All in all great stay and would stay there again

Arrived on sat afternoon only to find the room they sent us to had loads of dead flies all over the room,my guess is they had put the fly spray in there to kill them but forgot to go back and hoover them up.We asked for another room and was put in a much better room.Shower was tiny and we could only get one set of keys for a twin room which caused problems when coming home seperate that night. They also have an iron but no ironing board for use.If I had a hotel this would be one cheap thing I would rectify as it would make a big difference.Minor problems only and overall it was ok.Breakfast was nice, and staff were friendly.

6th July 2007 i stopped here on a hen party of 18 Girls for 2 nights.Firstly i would like to say the hotel was ok,clean and staff friendly.Only a 5 min walk from the town centre we just had a few problems!!

We arrived to be told that the hotel manager would like a £30.00 bond of each and everyone of us for Disturbance and damage reasons. As you can imagine we was not happy to also find out if one member, of our party was going to make any noise and there was a complaint we would all loose our £30.00!! We was on a Hen party for godsake!! You will be glad to know that we didnt pay this, i think the manager was scared of all 18 of us after we made a fuss!!

The 1st night we had a fab night in Newquay town centre and we came in and went to bed to find a group of lads on our floor shouting and banging on out door (I persume they wanted a party??) we kept telling them to go away for a full hour..eventually dropping off to sleep,at 5am we was woke up by a disgusting smell.....we opened our room door to find a human had [--] outside ...me and my friend was nearly being sick .
At 6pm there was yet another knock on the door to find it was the police questioning us about a mobile phone that had been stolen...We never knew anything about it!! Whilst all this was going on the smell from outside was getting worse and drove us to sleep in one of our friends bedrooms on the floor baring in mind we had rang the management but nothing was done until 7.30 in the morning.
We was best pleased when we found out in the morning that the party next door had been thrown out. I do believe someone had also complained about them!
Sat night was much better and we got a decent and clean night sleep!

I think we must have picked the wrong weekend! Despite everything that went on we had a fab weekend and the manager and staff could not apologise enough to us!

I suggest if your going for a nice quite weekend away without any noise ...dont pick this hotel!!

Management Response
TrevoneHotel, Owner
(Management representative)

I was very disappointed to read this review, I am aware that we did have a small group of problem guests in the hotel when this group stayed with us, however we did deal with matter by removing the group from the premises. As a family owned and run hotel we pride ourselves on the standard of service we provide and we will strive to ensure that every guest staying with us will be provided a high level of service.
In respect of the bond, it is our company policy to charge large parties or single sex groups a £30.00 cash bond for each member of the group. This is returned upon departure once all the rooms have been checked and there was no nuisance caused to other guests. As this booking was made last year the bond policy had not come into effect and as such was not paid, however any future bookings will be subject to our bond conditions. It is very rare for guests to loose their bond and if they have respect for the hotel and other guests it is never a problem.
I hope that this clarifies the issues raised, however if this review has raised any concerns please feel free to contact me on 01637 851101 to discuss further.
Kind regards
Helen Clarke

“Easter Break”

Trevone Hotel

I felt the need to write this review after reading another guests comments regarding the Trevone Hotel. We stayed at the hotel over the same easter period and indeed there was a large party in the hotel, however there was no noise or nussance caused to ourselves or to our knowledge anyone else.

We found the owners of the hotel exceptionally helpfull to the point that I think one even stayed up all night for three nights to ensure that no distrubance was caused to other guests.

The hotel itself we found good value for money, it was a typical seaside hotel, the rooms were basic but very comfortable with everything you would need ie. tea and coffee, hairdryer, tv ect.

I would really recommend this hotel for a short stay in Newquay as it is close to the town but far enough away from the bussel and the staff and management are so friendly.

We booked three nights over the Easter break after reading decent reviews on Trip Advisor. When we arrived we were very disappointed to discover that we would be sharing the hotel with a 38 strong stag / rugby team!

We have a very young child & the hotel knew this prior to our arrival as it provided us with a cot in our room. Noise was terrible from the other guests as well as from the road in front. Rooms are too hot early evening & freezing cold during the night.

The hotel is very dirty, smells of stale booze & cigarettes, looks like it has not been updated since the 70's. Mastic around the shower & sink has black mold on it.

Staff very unhelpful & refused to refund two nights after we decided to leave & find something better.

Avoid unless you are prepared to stay in squalor!!
