We stayed in Penzance for one night and only started looking for accommodation when we arrived. After visiting three B&Bs we found that the Lugger Hotel still had two double rooms left: one for £85, with a tub and a (around a corner) seaview, and another for £75 with a shower & tub, no seaview. We took the cheaper one. The room was small and worn, but it was enough to sleep in for one night. The bathroom was clean, but windows, curtains and the corners of carpet were visibly dirty - I tried to not look at those areas. If the room wasn't that great, the breakfast next morning at the restaurant was a nice surprise. It included everything from the usual tea, coffee and toast, to cereal, full English, etc. The service was very swift and attentive. So I'd say the price matched the whole service provided, but I'd rather have paid a few pounds less. If I went to Penzance again, I'd stay somewhere else.
The hotel provides some free parking, but the lot was full when we arrived. Luckily parking on the street was free too.
