This was a birthday treat to my partner. We decided to book 4 nights as Port Isaac is a long drive from our Suffolk home. The Bay Hotel turned out to be a home away from home. Paul, the owner, was very friendly and accomodating and cooked a wonderful breakfast. His equally friendly assistants, Sherry and another young lady, provided an excellent service at breakfast time as well as cleaning and servicing the room. The room was very clean and comfortable, with stunning double aspect views and a fabulous bath! (room 11). The cooked breakfast was delicious (not greasy) and came in generous portions. The buffet provided healthy options such as a wide range of fresh fruit, prunes and various cereals. The toast was made from lovely local bread and the jams were of good quality. There were nice little touches throughout the hotel: The tea tray in the room offered a range of hot drinks and nice biscuits, with UHT milk in the room, as well as the option to have fresh milk from the fridge just outside the room. The bed was very comfortable and the furnishings of good quality. I enjoyed a nice sweet every day from the little dish in reception. The front room provided comfortable chairs and settees and games for the guests, if we had felt so inclined. The Hotel is only a few minutes walk away from the town centre (up and down hill of course!). You only need to cross the road to eat in the restaurant The Edge, where we had the best meal of our 4 days. Great food, warm welcome and beautiful views!
Gino the Great Dane was a beatiful and very docile giant.
We would wholeheartedly recommend the Bay Hotel if you like to stay in a B&B that is a little special and where the staff look after you so well.
Room 11 has beautiful double aspect views and a romantic bath for two!
