After reading the reviews on trip advisor - i wanted to stay at White Waves and emailed them, after a few lovely informative mails back and forth we arrived Sunday lunchtime after a 4 hour drive - so were very ready for the warm welcome from Howie - instantly put us at ease, offered up a lovely cuppa & biccies and at our request - a recommendation to a fantastic carvery for lunch - no problem with parking at the b&b as they have spaces and are literally 4mins walk away from the harbour. Our room - the crows nest - was a lovely room - the bed was more comfy than mine at home and the white linen on the bed smelled so fresh it was a pleasure to get into, the room felt so cosy, warm and homely. Breakfast - which might i add is pretty yummy - whatever you choose - i had fresh fruit, full english and the croissants with bacon & mushrooms (not all on the same day of course!) - it set us up for the day and Howie will make you smile lots, we asked him about lovely places to visit and he gave us some great places which i had never even seen before - oh - i also asked where to get the best piece of cod.. and he was spot on there too! I had to have another before i left! Andy has a lovely unique little shop which is well worth a visit and nothing is too much trouble for Howie, just ask! The guys are great, and i was sad to come home - st ives is a hard place to leave behind and the b&b even harder - i think of the guys as friends now and wouldnt dream of staying anywhere else when we go back - as the guys say - they are just a normal guesthouse - but i say you'd be hard pushed to find such a comfortable atmosphere anywhere else
Liked - clean, quiet, friendly, lovely brekkie and hosts!
Disliked - Saying goodbye :o(
