On a short break with our Daughter and Son-in-Law. Two double rooms booked well in advance. On arrival we were just handed the room keys and pointed in the general direction of the rooms, imagine our surprise when my Wife and I opened the door of our room only to find that the room was just as the previous occupants had left it. On returning down stairs and pointing out this problem a better room ?? was prepared for us. Ok we thought these things happen, and the problem was resolved. Second unexpected surprise came the next morning when we discovered that there was no hot water to the basin tap. Once again we thought, oh well things like this happen, lets make a nice cup of coffee only to discover that the mugs on the tea tray were chipped and cracked so bad they were not fit to use. On pointing out these problems they were duly resolved. On the positive side the pub is very good, they serve a good pint of real ale and the food is delicious and we were given a round of drinks on the house. As other reviews seem to be on the positive side all I can think is that we must have arrived on a 'BAD' day but one thing is sure we won't be going back !
