This hotel is small and lovely - great decor, not chintzy! The room we stayed in, the four poster with sea view was traditional and comfortable and you can sit up in the bed and enjoy the view of the sea out of the window from that position - delightful!

The owners were very welcoming and also sociable but not intrusive. They were knowledgeable about the area, and had some good stories! They also gave good advice on where to dine (their own restaurant was not open for dinner when we stayed).

Breakfast was delicious, especially knowing that most of the produce was local, and the setting was amazing - another room with a full-on seaview.

We stayed in December and the weather was unpredictable and a bit wild, but in our view, that added to the experience

We stayed here for a couple of nights in October. Colin was very welcoming and extremely helpful - we never did meet his wife but thought she might have been in charge of breakfast preparation. Breakfasts were tasty and hearty. We stayed in the Bishops Suite. I believe this room could do with a bit of a spruce up - the bathroom, in particular.

Also we were a bit overwhelmed with the rules stated to us by Colin on our arrival in regard to drinking/eating in the rooms, using the toilet, etc. During our month's trek through England and Scotland staying at wonderful B&Bs along the way, this was the only establishment hat had such stringent rules spelt out to us on our arrival. I wondered if we looked like the sort of guests who would spill drinks on bedspreads and leave water marks on furniture and block toilets?

As I remarked earlier, Colin was an extremely affable host who went out of his way to give pertinent advice re best routes to take, best places to eat, etc. etc. This was very much appreciated. Also it was nice to be able to come back to the hotel at night and be able to buy a nightcap from the bar. Although the sofas and chairs in the evening lounge had a bit of a damp mildewy smell to them it wasn't enough to put us off sitting there and getting to know the other guests of the hotel. The breakfast room was very bright and airy and had wonderful views.

Superb breakfast with a large choice of food for personal menu selection each day, so you are able to choose as much or as little as you like.
Many nice touches such as sherry and water (plus usual tea & coffee) in our room.
Bedroom well presented and tastefully furnished.
Altogether a wonderful stay.

Just a dream spot to find by chance. We will be back as quickly as possible. Terrific bedrooms , breakfast the best I've had anywhere ,hot ,well presented, good food.A warm welcome,went through all aspects to make our stay as comfortable as they could ( sadly only one night).I thought parking may be a problem but it was not. Great views from most if not all the rooms.
