This lovely house was recommended to us. We arrived early and left our luggage and Ben was very helpful, asking us if we had thought about somewhere to eat in the evening which was extremely useful. Jane offers an excellent selection for breakfast all cooked to perfection the Victoria Omlette was excellent, also you are spoilt with homemade bread and preserves you certainly dont need to have lunch.
Ben & Jane have really thought about their guests stay, and nothing was too much trouble. Their local knoweldge of the area was very helpful and if you are a walker you are in an ideal location. In the bedrooms is a lovely book advising you of the history of the house, great places to visit which I found interesting reading. Alot of Ben & Jane's guests return every year so really I should keep this little find quiet but with so many B&B's in the area try and stay a the Victoria you wont be disappointed.

Victoria Lodge is a wonderful small hotel. It is a lovely looking hotel set in a glorious garden

On entering the hotel one is immediately transported into a bygone age. The many Victorian paintings and photographs, the decor with beautufl drapes and decoration. But all facilities are of the most high standard modern kind.

Greeted by Jane or Ben is a marvellous introduction. Both of them are gracious, helpful and prepared to ensure everyone has a marvellous stay. They are both keen walkers and explorers and know the area (including places for cream teas!)

The hotel rooms, each named after one of Queen Victoria's family are delightful. Again, beautifully decorated, comfortable large-size beds, tea and coffee in the room - indeed as perfect as anyone can get. The breakfasts are amazing - we counted at least 11 alternatives on the menu!

This small hotel, which has rightly been selected as one of the very best in Britain (it carries the top award - 5 red diamonds), is in the picturesque village of Lynton. There are many delightful eating places around. The countryside in this part f North Devon is beautiful The coastline stunning, Exmoor with its wood-clad hills and dashing streams one of England's most lovely places - all within walking distance. There are many places within a short car drive (or public transport) which are there to explore.

All makes for a wonderful holiday - make sure one stays several days.
