We have just returned from a short break at the North Cliff Hotel, having originally booked for just two nights, we soon decided to stay for three. Although it is not as secluded as I thought it would be from the website, it does have fantastic views of Lynmouth. It is two minutes from the little town of Lynton, and a good five minutes downhill walk to Lynmouth, (although this is steep and quite an effort to walk back up.) The Cliff railway is right on your door step.

We travelled with our two children, and the family room was excellent, spacious with the kids in a doorless adjoining room. Very comfortable and clean, and substantial breakfasts served in the dining room which has fantastic views.

This is not an area to visit if you like to be somewhere loud and busy and the hotel bar never had anyone in, but the owners were very happy to serve drinks when required.

All in all a lovely hotel that I would recommend to anyone who is not after wild nightlife, and Lynmouth is a lovely town and a great base to travel to Ilfracombe, and partiuclarly Woolacombe with it's great family beach.

I was a walk in customer seeking single ensuite B&B for one evening.

This hotel is a 2 minute stroll from the Lynton village and perched on the cliffedge overlooking the ocean and down into Lynmouth.

As it was low-season, Kate, the receptionist said offered me room #6 (a double) for the price of a single. Although she assured me that all rooms have exceptional seaviews, I’m sure that this corner room must be the pick of them all.

Very modern décor, perfectly clean, extremely comfortable furnishings, small yet functional bathroom and two opening seaview windows with wicker chairs for relaxing in, I quickly changed my booking for a 2 night stay.

The breakfast room is bright & sunny with stunning seaviews and serves a great variety of foods including fresh fruit salad and hot breakfast to order. I believe the hotel offers half-board in the tourist season and opens its tearooms & restaurant then also.

With off street parking at the front of the hotel, the location is such that whether you want to go on some the many walks in the area, explore the towns of Lynton & Lynmouth or go on the cliff railway – simply park the car and everything is reachable on foot.

I could not fault this hotel and would thoroughly recommend it.
