Everything we needed, good clean accomodation, nice breakfast and what a location !!! Historic Plymouth Hoe and Barbican right on your doorstep, and I mean doorstep.
The guesthouse is located on Citadel road, and no surprise that there is a Citadel at the top of the road (used to defend Plymouth over the years).
Over the weekend there was a bus pull competition for charity and a celebration for the falklands on Plymouth Hoe, pity it rained but there was nothing Louise and Joe (the owners) could do about that.
Joe mentioned there is quite a lot that happens on the Hoe during the summer, power boat racing and firework displays were just two that he remebered because they were now regular annual events.
There is even a pub next to the guesthouse for an evening meal and drink.
The web site does not quite let you see how close you are to Plymouth town centre, just a 2 min walk.
The only thing the children did not like was there was no beach, but there is an open air swimming pool on the Hoe (5 mins walk from the house) and if you do not mind a 40minute drive, then you can go to Bigbury Bay, which has a huge beach.
The town centre has plenty of restaurants to suit all budgets just around the corner from the guesthouse.
