We had two friends over from South Africa whose grandparents came from Plymouth so we decided to take them there for the weekend. I saw Poppy's on lastminute.com and then checked the reviews on tripadvisor.com and decided it was worth a try. What a pleasant surprise - every aspect of our stay was wonderful. The location is excellent - Diane (ever friendly and helpful) provided safe parking for our car and we were able to walk everywhere as we were so close to the main areas of interest. The rooms we were given (3 and 6) were a delight. Spotlessly clean, freshly decorated and a very nice size with high ceilings. Our room had a shower in one corner and then a small room with a toilet and basin. There was plenty of tea, milk and biscuits - not the usual stingy one or two. The very reasonable rate included a full cooked breakfast served by the very sweet Lauren. The only thing we'd change would be to have less toast as we each had far too much and it was a shame for it to be wasted. Plymouth itself was also a pleasant discovery with lots to do - unfortunately the Elizabethan house was closed but the Gin Distillery tour was very interesting. All in all a great weekend - we highly recommend Poppy's and will be back ourselves!
