Average but chintzy b and b which seems geared towards the lone travelling salesman rather than leisure travellers. Breakfast served before 9am including at week-ends! does not make one feel welcome.

Stayed here for the second time after friend's recommendation and now want to recommend others too.
Lovely Georgian terrace house with Chandeliers, high ceilings and dramatic rooms.
On street parking outside on meters 10-6pm (ask Owner for day pass @ £3)
It’s a Quiet road just behind the Hoe and a short walk downhill to the shops and the Barbican area so the location couldn’t be better.
The landlady (if they’re still called that) is helpful and approachable and cooks a lovely breakfast.
All for reasonable guesthouse rates.Better than a Budget hotel by far and there IS that breakfast!
I Just hope you lot haven’t booked all the rooms when we want to stay there next!!

If you are planning a trip to Plymouth I would definately recommend staying here. I have stayed there twice now. The owners (Theresa and Doreen) are very friendly and welcoming, the rooms are clean and it is very convenient to the downtown core and Plymouth Hoe, while away from heavy traffic. Breakfast is included and is very good as well. Thanks for the great hospitality, Theresa and Doreen!!

My sister had booked most of the hotel for the family to stay over 2 nights for a family wedding in Plympton. My partner and I were the last to arrive at 8.00pm in the evening. Parking is very difficult due to permit parking on side streets. Depsite nobody else having the same names as us and our names being clear in the diary we were told we didnt have a room as they were all taken. We were then allowed to check in hoping there wouldnt be any problems !!! Also had to put up with moans about forms not being filled in correctly so not a good welcome. Rooms were clean and tidy on arrival but some mold in the very small shower on the tiles. Noisey all night on the street being a Saturday. Breakfast was excellent. The main problem was that the room wasn't serviced whilst we were out and it seemed that way for most of the rooms. Beds were not made, bins checked or damp linen changed. As we had got back around 11pm on the Sunday evening this could not be mentioned until we paid in the morning. The owners attitude wasn't very helpful stating it was our fault as we prevented access to the rooms. We had all been out for 2hrs in the morning then back for an hour to change prior to the wedding leaving at 12.40pm. We were told the maids finished at 1.30pm despite signs on the room doors saying rooms serviced between 12 and 3pm.
Will not be recommending them or returning.

Although the one comment on this site did put me off at first, I trusted a recommendation by friends, and booked one double room in the Ashgrove Hotel for a weekend.Still somewhat dubious, we were greeted by friendly staff who showed us around the beautiully presented property.
Breakfast was spot on with a great selection.Turns out the present owners purchased the property in Jan 04.The Ashgrove Hotel offered comfortable accomodation at an exceptional price.
