“Rowe Mafia Invades Imperial Again!”

Imperial Hotel Plymouth

11 Jan 2008

Please disregard all previous negative reviews as even Hyacinth Bouquet would be hard pushed to find fault here! We came, we saw, we stayed - again! More than happy to return to the Imperial. Now under the TLC of Louise and Richard who've clearly been as busy as beavers in the summer of 2007 with very sympathetic and tasteful refurbishments. Lovely decor throughout, plenty of hot water whenever you need it, ample toiletries and coffee making items, clean towells and oh so comfy beds. If you leave the breakfast table hungry then you really ARE that fussy! Attention to details continue to thrill us as does the staff's sense of humour which drifts throughout the guesthouse like that of newly percolated coffee. Wonderful place, run by professional, courteous people. And Bazil must get a mention in despatches - go there to meet him! Thank you to all of you and look forward to our next visit.

“Great little hotel”

Imperial Hotel Plymouth

20 Nov 2007

This is a very smart, cosy hotel, conveniently located in a quiet area between The Hoe and the shopping centre. The hotel is decorated and furnished in a pleasant and modern style throughout and looks clean and well cared for. Our room was very chic with a stylish new bathroom, quality bedding, flat panel TV with DVD player and tea-making facilities. Breakfast was very good with an excellent choice of cereals, fruit and hot dishes, all nicely presented.

The staff were all very pleasant and courteous and the young lady on reception was extremely helpful and informative. Her recommendation of the nearby Thai Palace restaurant turned out to be excellent - we had a superb meal there and were very lucky to get a table at short notice on a Saturday evening.

At £64 per night this hotel is very good value and highly recommended.

“A True 5 Star Guest House”

Imperial Hotel Plymouth

18 Nov 2007

Just a quick note to thank all the staff at The Imperial Plymouth for their fantastic welcome and hospitality during our recent stay.
Being a novice to Plymouth, I found Richard's advice very informative which helped me get more from my stay.

Whilst I was there, they had just been awarded 5 star guest house status. I'm not sure exactly what the hotel needed to do to get the award but I can't say I am surprised - the rooms were comfortable and modern and the food was excellent.

“Lovely, family run facilities”

Imperial Hotel Plymouth

We stayed for a night in August and nothing was too much trouble.
The new decor was beautifully done with great attention to detail in our rooms.
We were made very welcome, despite 2 very over-excited 15 year old girls with us. Poor Steve !
Thanks to both Steve and Louise. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice.
Good choice of up to date DVDs and books to borrow.
We loved our little balcony and the views of Plymouth and the Hoe.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again, although would pre-warn Steve and Louise about the girls!!

“This is a great hotel- don't be put off by previous reviews!”

Imperial Hotel Plymouth

17 Aug 2007

I have to say, I don't recognise the hotel described by "poison dwarf"- I suspect there has been a change of management since. We couldn't have been made more welcome - nothing was too much trouble for the staff - the manager even lent our friends a cd to take on their long journey home! Our room was spacious, well decorated and scrupulously clean. Lovely bathroom with bath and shower, (and not a spot of mould!) Generous tea/coffee making facilities, comfortable beds and excellent tv/dvd player. There is a good resident's lounge/bar with a selection of books to borrow.

Plenty of choice at breakfast, including vegetarian option. Food is good.

Overall this is a very good value hotel, with plenty of 'personal touches' which make it a great place to stay.
