This was a last minute get away over Easter weekend. Never been to Plymouth so thought it might be nice. This hotel seemed good value for money and relatively close to Plymouth itself, but with a countryside feel to it.
Food and service in the brasserie/bar area were fairly good, if a bit pricey and not very varied. The atmosphere, however, was dreadful though. It felt like eating in a social centre or the entertainment hut at a campsite. Very draughty, uncomfortable chairs, kids running riot with pool cues. Not what we expected - perhaps the term 'brasserie' was a little over egging the pudding. Canteen would have been better.
The room was okay, apart from a whole chest of drawers collapsing when opened and a door hanging off the built in wardrobe. Can't help us for thinking Fawlty Towers.
Breakfast was a farce. Basically too busy, food was cold and on our last day there rain poured through the conservatory air vents - when we reported it to recpetion we were given no apology or help at all. Reception staff were, quite frankly, rubbish.
All in all, very pretty site, lovely golf course grounds. Hotel isn't worth the money, even if you get a deal!
