This is a great location right on the Barbican and within walking distance of the town centre. The Travel Inn is very warm and could really do with aircon but there was a big fan in the room which helped. The room was kept very clean and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly even arranging our daughters teddies on her bed; nice touch.

Asked for a non smoking room, got a smoking one. Asked for an iron / board, went to reception to collect it. plugged it in only to be confronted by plumes of smoke which set off fire alarm. The room smelt disgustingly of smoke to start with, this made it 10 times worse. The bedroom carpet was stained as was the bed cover. The bathroom ceiling sported a wide variety of mould species and was soooo hot it could have doubled as a sauna. Generally these places are good, indeed the one next door (sutton harbour) is very nice, clean and modern. But this one is the pits, it really is.

Good position handy for the Aquarium. BUT
We went during some sort of mini heatwave. The temperature in the rooms had to be experienced to be believed. Either put in some air con or at least let us open the windows. Sorry but if I cant sleep because of the heat then this is not a good place to stay.
