My wife and I had 2 nights at the Hudson in Oct 2006 and decided to take my mother and some of the family back to Torquay on 9th & 10th feb after the death of my father. having seen most of the rooms from our previous visit we rang to ask for particular rooms, 4 rooms in total, they were only too pleased to help.
When we arrived I had forgotten how steep the steps were leading up to the hotel, but that would have been o.k as there were 8 of us to help, but when they had taken our money they forgot all about our agreement about selected rooms and put one disabled person on the top floor 3 stories up and my 77 year old mother on the basement down very steep steps. When I protested, they would not discuss my complaints, I was told if I didnt like it I could go elsewhere. Be warned if you have any disability dont stay here, you may be promised a nice balcony room low down but you will probably end up in the attic.
