“Great restaurant which sets a standards for the rosettes quality indicator”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

We tried their restaurants which is rated with a double rosette, without knowing about the ratings since I know more about the Michelin stars being French.
It set a quality reference in my mind and from now on, I'll be looking to find those rosettes.
Great combination of tastes: subtle, balanced and then not intellectual food.
Hotel was excellent for a three star.

Dear Claire B

Thank you so very much for this review and also for the one you wrote on the Restaurant section of Trip Advisor. Our restaurant is like a beautiful bottle of red wine - it gets better and better with age and is hugely popular amongst the foodies!!

Best wishes and thank you again.

I say this not lightly ,
I am speaking in authority here. As we have stayed literely in every so called " GOOD " Hotel in Bornemouth ,
No Hotel will ever come close to the Connaught !
This is because, this Hotel knows its market...
This Hotel knows the secret....... And the secret is you ! ,, And me, and whoever else comes through its doors !

Mr Miller ( the top brass - the managing---director ) ...
Does what a great business ( and let us not forget, this is what it is ) should do... and that is lead from the TOP !
His skills of making a paying guest feel important, wanted, and part of something very special
is filtered throughout this wonderful Hotel.

As you pass through the front sliding doors, the receptionists greet you with expert ease, and warmth.
We have stayed in the orchid suit, and the Rose suit, and can hand on heart recomend these rooms. Going as far as stating, these are the comfiest beds ever slept in, in any other hotel bar NONE ! that, as you will note is thee most important factor .

The lovely ladies that look after the rooms, as in clean, and take good care of your rooms, are as honest as the day is long. as we have had cause to praise here.

The blakes reseraunt, OMG... you will go a long way to eat this standard of food anywhere, including all the so called top haunts in LONDON , I am speaking with authority here.
Nick, thee Matre 'd is in a leugue of his own , and makes this resteraunt special
The waiters, the bar staff, the whole nine yards,
This is a Hotel that rests on a brilliant reputation
. And the reputation is the staff, the feeling, the athmosphere, the attention to detail, the fact that you realy feel you are reciving 5 star treatment, and you don't feel robbed at the end of your stay !

Personaly speaking, I find it very dificult to stay away from the connaught, despite perchasiing a top of the range luxuary touring Caravan last year. We bought this to save us money, so we can take our family to Bornemouth .
This new year we took our family, and Grandson for the new year package. we all loved every single moment of our stay there. And as I said, we did not feel the pinch in the pocket, as this Hotel gives much more than value for Money.
What we recive from this Hotel are brilliant memories, and fantastic feel good factor's
We will definatly continue to frequent this wonderful Hotel, who , trust me, have everything spot on "...
And even when we are in Bornemouth in our Caravan... we could never resist eating in the Blakes tasty, second to none resteraunt..

If you are looking for the perfect hotel......
look no further. This Hotel is a welcome suprise if you're expecting something more, and equaly if you are unsure of worth, and consider yourself not worthy of 5 star treatment... you've found it anyway. and you will be treated as such immediatly .
I promise you one thing... this will never be your only visit. you will return, for all the reasons you will descover for yourself . xx

“Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

This is a very nice hotel, but the best part of the stay is the staff, very friendly, very efficient and nothing was to much trouble.

An added bonus for myself is the fact they provide a Gluten Free breakfast with very nice G Free bread

Dear Gerremys

Thank you vvery much for your very kind review - we are all totally committed to providing Guests with a first class service and that includes paying attention to dietary requirements. Nicki, our Maitre d' takes great care to ensure those suffering from coeliac problems are catered for at breakfast and if Guests warn us in advance Chef is happy to ensure a gluten free diet.

We had a great time.
Staff were excellent and the food was great.
Headwaiter was a star and made us feel very welcome.
Food was great, presentation was top drawer.
Rooms clean and tidy and the spa was perfect to unwind after a brisk walk on the nearby seafront.

Room Tip: A small nightclub in an old Church was noisy further down the road at the front of the Hotel. A room at the rear may be better.

Dear Mike G

Happy New Year and thank you for your excellent review. With regard to the small Church - its days as a nightclub are over and it is undergoing another conversion - this time to an office!!

Best wishes and thank you again

“Good Hotel at a reasonable price”

On arriving at the Hotel we was greeted by very friendly reception staff, who offered all the help and assistance we required without asking. We had gone to Bournemouth to meet up with a friend at the nearby Wessex Hotel 50 metres away, but I felt the tarrif was too high so booked the Connaught instead through Booking.com at £45 for the night. We was so pleased we had done so, the connaught was a period property and had been refurbished to a good standard retaining it character. the room was of a high standard and so was the on-suite.
We did visit the Wessex in the evening but found it a pretty clinical establishment without any redeeming features. The only thing I felt lacking was the fact of no tea or coffee making facility in the room.

Dear Costadelboy01

Thank you for you very kind review - the only part that surprised me was the lack of tea making facilities. If you have a moment please let me know which room it was that you occupied - it has to be there somewhere!!

Best wishes and a very happy New Year
