Another disappointing Tapas...I suppose my grand disappointment isn't JUST the problem of Agua Dulce...it's most well-reviewed Tapas places I've been to in the last few years. I always leave a bit underwhelmed. Maybe I'm just 'over' tapas.
But, let's get specific to Agua Dulce...it's not bad to look at upon arrival...nothing special, mind you, but no worse. It seemed clean anyway...and besides banging me knee repeatedly on a weird two-seater table with a giant wrought-iron fixture underneath, it was pleasant enough.
The service was good. Our waitress in particular was friendly, helpful, and checked up on us at regular intervals throughout the night.
We were also lucky to have dined on a Thursday as that is when they, apparently, have a dynamite little flamenco duo. I'd go back again to enjoy a snack perhaps and a glass of wine on a Thursday.
But, unfortunately, we put a lot of stock into the food based on its sterling reviews here on trip advisor.
The calamari was a bit bland and chewy. The chick pea dish with spinach was good enough and portioned for a giant. I mean...it actually was quite nice...but how many mouthfuls of chickpeas and spinach can one person eat? (You know you just order that dish anyway to add a bit of health to your otherwise greasy and fried selections). The chorizo was also good. The potatoes with garlic mayonnaise was glooping with mayo and I had to push a lot of the stuff off before eating the spuds. I think...of the six dishes my partner and I ordered to share, we made good progress on three of them...the rest we left mostly untouched.
All in all...I think this place is too high-rated for what you get. But, if you're looking for a snack and a drink, make sure you at least go on a Thursday when it's extra special thanks to the flamenco.

can i say this review has totally confused me as the title really doesnt describe your feedback.....for me you enjoyed it but didnt enjoy it.....................all i can say is that i am very proud of all my reviews but i dont know what people think they should expect when they come here to eat....i dont pretend to be anything i am not...no flash plates, no 5 star service.....we are just a family business which cooks home made spanish dishes as done in the south of spain with a friendly service and i think that my restaurant is worth more than a visit just for a snack...but one thing i will say is that i will not change the way we cook our dishes to cater for english or any other nationality as i am an AUTHENTIC spanish restaurant and that is what i beleive people want as you can see from 98% of my reviews
