“Great location - very poor hotel”

This hotel was really poor. We booked last minute and it was a roof over our head but the place was a real mess. The decor was tatty, the rooms were cramped, the services were difficult to say the least, the breakfast was of a poor quality with too little space available. Everything seemed to be done on the cheap - the decor was tatty, the furniture wasn't up to much, the bathroom was damp and badly cleaned, there is no late night bar, the internet access requires you to go to reception to book and get a code, then when you get to your floor its a poor connection.......all in all - a poor hotel in my opinion - stay elsewhere.

The staff did the best they could with the poor hotel - the management need to invest in doing the place up a little.

“"NO Quality" Should be the name!”

Quality Hotel Brighton

28 Sep 2007

It was a standing joke that we called this the "No Quality" Hotel.
A lift that only worked sometimes, mould in the bath, a lumpy bed, a TV with (only just) the terrestrial channels... all in all not a *** hotel.

On the plus side the hot breakfast was good and plentiful, but overall this got nowhere near justifying its price.

“The missing keyword is 'bad' Quality hotel”

Like many reviews here, the hotel is in such a bad state, hardly worth of it's claimed 3 stars rating.

I am always suspicious with hotels that have the name 'quality' or similar in the name, it's like countries with democratic in the name, it's usually anything but.

The room is old and tired. The first lift smelled of urine, I complained to reception but nothing was done about it. The room was ultra hot and I had to brave gale force wind by keeping the window open just to be able to sleep.

The bathroom: stale water smell, the bath tub had 2 significant holes in it (sorry I don't have a camera) the taps had rust on them.

I wanted to have an early night, the restaurant opens at 6.30 so I had my dinner in the hotel bar, the tables were all sticky and the place was not cleaned properly, the food was ok tho.

In short, don't bother, you can find much better places for your money.

“Anything but Quality”

Where does one start? The tatty carpet in reception with the peeling off masking tape? The lift buttons that are broken? The very slow lifts? The rooms on the second floor with ultra-thin connecting doors to the neighbouring rooms that let all the sound through? The unusual odour in many of the rooms and corridors? The baking hot meeting rooms? The list goes on and on and on.

To their credit, the individual staff were pretty good. The hotel though was anything but.

stayed here for 2 nights as we went to a concert at the brighton centre.

the hotel was well situated for all attractions in brighton. it was clean and the staff were friendly.

we had a room on the 7th floor. it was clean and tidy and you could see the sea!

the breakfast was fantastic, a really good choice, continental and full english.

we stayed for dinner one night and it was good value for money and delicious.
