stayed here recently - nice hosts, great breakfast - well cooked, fresh fruit etc. but room was very small - felt a bit claustrophobic. Beauifully kept - but would prefer to stay somewhere larger next time

This little Hotel/B & B redifines the traditional Bead & Breakfast experience. Warm Welcome - Clean and well decorated rooms with quality bedding etc. Bathroom in our room was a little on the small side, but to be fair we were offered an alternative room with a bigger bathroom if desired. Breakfast was superb - brand name cereals, real fruit juices, cooked breakfast presented hot and fresh, ground coffee and tables set with quality crockery & cutlery. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and the position of the hotel is situated in exactly the right area for a good night out with excellent restaurants and bars on the door step.
We can highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast and look forward to our next stay later in the year.
We decided to travel to Brighton by train as the parking can be difficult. We took a taxi from the station (£6.00p) however you could walk, which would take approximately 20 minutes.

We spent a fabulous weekend at the Cavalaire, in the gorgeous surroundings of the lovely Room 3. It's often hard for hotels to be both friendly and stylish - you usually have to sacrifice one or the other - but here Garry and Derek manage to deliver both.

The welcome was warm and genuine - we were greeted with a glass of wine, Derek made restaurant reservations for the first night, and we were allowed to borrow from their huge DVD collection. Breakfasts were generous, tasty and cooked to order; a great way to start the day.

The downsides? None, unless you like your hosts to maintain a cool distance. This is not part of a faceless chain, and although I never found him intrusive Derek is definitely a host, not a hotel manager.

I've just read this back and I think it sounds as if they put me up to it! Actually, this is a trustworthy review from a happy guest. Go there!

“Amazing Hotel, Unbeatable”

Me and my girlfriend Ailsa stopped at this Hotel back in June. I was looking for a romantic break. The hotel got some good reviews on tripadvisor, but its better than I could have hoped. The decore is very luxurous, and the room we stopped in, had a four poster bed, and a huge plasma TV.

But the thing that makes this place stand head and shoulders above the competition is 'Garry and Derek'. These guys know how to run a hotel, and they do it with such ease, and friendlyness its dificult not to feel completly at home when you walk in th door. They were both execptionaly helpfull nice people.

Its taken me a while to get around to writin this review, but the fact that 6 months later, I still hadgood memories of the short break we spent there should speak volumes., and all I can say is, why stop anywhere else.

“The perfect romantic night away....”

My partner and I had a wonderful night in Brighton staying at the Cavalaire. On arrival we had a warm welcome, and were made to feel very special - we were up-graded to the deluxe four poster room. As it was a birthday celebration this was especially appreciated! Garry and Derek were so helpful, and made some great recommendations for a romantic dinner nearby. They achieved a perfect balance of care and attention, without being intrusive in any way.

The room was totally decadent - sumptuous bed and furnishings, gorgeous bathroom with soft fluffy towels, heated towel rail and enormous shower which begs to have 2 people in there together!!!

It was spotlessly clean, cosy and warm.

Breakfast was delicious - full English for him, veggie for me, endless tea and coffee.

A very relaxed environment - highly recommended.
