Stayed here for one night having got a good deal from lastminute.com.

I usually stay at the Brighton Hotel which is two doors away but would not go back there having sampled the superior experience here. We had Room 120 which is first floor sea view, and advertised as a deluxe. It has 3 full length windows so you could lie in bed and look out to sea. The furniture and fittings were dated but everything seemed to be newly painted and was spotlessly clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly and there was a nice bar area in reception. Breakfast was fine- but you can’t have fruit and a cooked breakfast, just one or the other which I thought was a bit bizarre. The seafront road is very noisy so if you have a front room you will need earplugs – but of course this is not the hotel’s fault. Car parking on the road is free from 6pm until 9am, as long as you can get a space, so really no need to pay for a car park.

I wouldn’t hesitate in going back to this hotel in the future.

“nice hotel”

Kings Hotel

13 Apr 2008

we stayed here for valentines day this year, when we arrived there was no parking left... but to be honest we expected that! so not a problem for us, but was a problem for the people arriving after us that seemed to think they were staying at the ritz!!!!!!!

we parked directly opposite the hotel on the seafront but the ncp carpark is not far away at all.

the bar area is nicely decorated, but we couldnt find a barmaid, but again didnt really bother us.

our room was small but cosy, big enough for us 2 neway, the shower room was tiny and if u was ne bigger than my partner you def wouldnt fit on the loo!!! haha but im sure not all the rooms are this small, we didnt have a nice view, but again not a problem... when we came to check out we did see you could upgrade for £30, which we def would of done!!

the walls are very thin.. we had some "lovely" noises comin from next door!!!

breakfast was lovely, jus what ud expect from this kind of hotel, all in all a good experience, i would visit again!!!

“Disappointed in Brighton”

My wife and I had a weekend away at the beginning of March and came away feeling as if we had been ripped off.

We were looking forward to a romantic weekend away and took the option for a more expensive room (£145) as the web site shows pictures of the rooms and they looked very modern. However in the event, the room was nothing like the photos on the web site. It had cheap furniture and was in real need of updating - the carpets were worn, towels had holes in them and the paint was coming off the ceiling in the bathroom. In addition, there looked like the beginnings of mould in a corner above the bath.

We have a small dog and chose the hotel as the hotel's web site stated that dogs are accepted. Dog owners beware: they are only reluctantly accepted and there is a £25 charge per night that is not mentioned on the web site.

Also not mentioned on the web site is the lack of car parking spaces and in order ot get one we had to pay a further £12. So in total we paid £182 for a shabby room and not surprisingly felt ripped off.

We stayed there with my sister for 5 days in January. The hotel is opposite the sea with a clear view to the beach. The rooms were clean, warm, with soft beds, a big bathroom, hair dryer and coffee maker. The stuff was very helpful and kind. Our reservation was for bed and breakfast which included fresh coffee, juice, toast and a choice between traditional, vegetarian and pancakes. The pebbles restaurant is nicely decoradated. Our room didn’t have a view to the sea but it was quiet enough so we ve been able to have a good nigh sleep after a hole day at the shops! Overall we enjoyed our stay to the Kings Hotel. I ll definitely choose this hotel again when I visit Brighton again!

“Pleasantly adequate”

Great location right on the beach, an easy walk to The Lanes, shopping, and restaurants (We walked to the hotel from the train station, too, but that may be too far a hike for some!). Modern lobby and small restaurant inside. Rooms aren't fancy, but are certainly adequate and clean. Good value - would stay there again.
