Having got a great deal 2 nights room and Breakfast and dinner on first night included, was a bit concerned about the hotel..
Location. Great for expoloring bBrighton, Bus stop across the road, bars and restaurants close by.
Hotel.
Rooms lovely, clean, spacious with iron and hairdryer. Food in the hotel was of a high standard, and staff, very helpful, caring and realy pleasent to speak to.
One little negative was that the rooms were to hot in the night, even after turning dowm the thermostate.
If you are looking for a good hotel, good location you can't go wrong with the Ramada, but only on a deal.

If this were a cheap family run hotel I would praise the faded grandeur, admire the retained victorian features and accept the disorganised breakfast experience. But it isn't.........
The double room was small and under furnished but bathroom had been redone quite well.
Staff seemed uninterested. Breakfast food was down-market. Breakfast tea took 10 mins to arrive - too late to accompany the meal itself. The reception area was gloomy. They don't bother to light the main outside steps at night,
For the prices they charge it is a poor value hotel.

There were 16 of us staying at the Ramada Jarvis, Brighton for a hen do, and the hotel couldn't have been better. We had a fantastic deal whereby we payed £70 pp for two nights bed and breakfast plus dinner on the first night. The hotel staff were all extremely helpful and we were even given two bottles of bubbly by the manager at dinner for the hen. The hotel is in a great location, and the rooms were very clean and well presented. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

“Great value”

Ramada Jarvis Brighton

We booked a standard double room for 1 night and it was well worth the money (£55 booked direct from the Ramada website). The room was very nice, bed was quite big considering it was only a double. The room had most of the things we needed: iron, ironing board, hairdryer, desk, flat screen LCD tv, hangers, wardrobe, 2 chairs. There is also a kettle with tea bags/ coffee etc, it would have been nice if they also gave biscuits though.

The en suite was very nice and clean, however, the shower wasn't powerful at all but it wasn't too bad. They do give you large bath towels and face towels and you can also ask for extra ones if needed. The bathroom had shower gel, shampoo and soap.

The room service is really good, they provide many small items like shower cap, toothbrush, toothpaste, sewing kit, comb, cotton buds and cotton pads etc free of charge so it's very handy if you've forgotten anything.

The breakfast buffet was really good, there was lots of choice.. from fruit, yogurt, cereal to hash browns, sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, juice, tea, coffee etc.

The only downsides were that the room got very hot and there was only a small fan. There was a small window which didn't open much, but you could open the door that led on to the courtyard, but you wouldn't want to leave it open during the night so it got very hot. Also, the only drinking water available was the tap in the bathroom, so you should bring your own bottle of water. The location wasn't too bad but it is quite a walk to pier and the shopping centre and by the time we walked back we were exhausted.

Also, the TV is only useful for the usual channels BBC1, BBC2, ITV etc. There was very limited movies on demand for which you have to pay £6.99 per movie, there was only a choice of about 10 and they were all old. We ended up watching a movie on Channel 5 instead! You have to pay for broadband etc too.

Apart from the entertainment the stay was well worth the money.

Stayed at the Ramada, Brighton for two nights as we managed to get a special deal for £139, which included dinner on the first night, and then breakfast both days. We got there early (12.35pm) and was given our room straightaway which was very impressive. The room was nice, the only gripes I have is that the shower wasn't massively powerful and the room was pretty hot with only a fan to keep us cool, but that was fine. The room had an iron and ironing board which was very handy. At reception when we first got there we were asked what time we would like dinner, 6pm or 8pm, so we opted for 8pm. Our special deal stated that we could have our dinner included in the price, or we could pay extra for the A La Carte Menu. We asked to see the A La Carte Menu as there wasn't much choice on the normal one, but we were told that as there was a function for 160 people in the next room that it was a limited menu, so be aware of this as they don't actually let you know prior to this. Anyway the manager was very good when we said about this and handled things very well. In the end we had a very nice meal. I have a big complaint about the bar area though. The view is nice but the prices are pretty expensive, and also my husband was served flat beer (which he complained about so got his money back) and some wine he had was also off (he had an unlucky night!) but we had to argue with the barman (a different one from the one who gave the refund) to give us a fresh glass of wine. A foreign couple also said that their wine was off but was more polite than us to say anything! The breakfast was okay, nothing special. All in all I would not stay here if I had to pay full price, I would prefer the Grand, which has much nicer rooms and brilliant breakfast and doesn't cost THAT much more per night if you shop around a bit!
