We arrived at the hotel on Sunday 27th April, the hotel advertised the room we booked as a deluxe room and the blurb said it was a peaceful and quiet oasis.

The room was quite nicely furnished and the satff pleasant enough - however in my opinion a room classed as deluxe should possess a bath not a poky dirty shower.

Our main gripe however - was the rooms walls - we were in room 204 and obviously it had been made smaller so a single room could be constructed next door. That evening near midnight the occupant of the room next door came back from a night out, and without her being loud we could hear every single word she said through the paper thin walls as she discussed her night out with a male friend.

We heard every word as she became distressed at her lack of success with men - this went on for hours.

Reception advised there were no other rooms we could move to.

The walls are the thinnest we have ever experienced and in no way was our stay quiet and peaceful.

From the moment we tripped through the door, leaving liberal deposits of confetti, we were given a warm welcome. winter pimms all round. Our room was the one shown on the website, with pic on the wall of the lady with the afro and the brown cover on the bed. It was a strange room to get into as the door was set in a tiny alcove but once you were in there it was lovely. The bathroom, minus a bath but no matter, was beautifully tiled and spotlessly clean, as was the room. The breakfast we were very impressed with, the food was lovely and the staff were great. The dinner however did leave a little to be desired. the first night we had confit of duck which was lovely but they were no vegetables, only a small portoin of salad. The chips however were amazing and I would stay the night to have them again!! The second we had beouf bourginon which was ok. It wasn't very attractively served. just a large pile of beef stew with potatoes mixed in. The beef was both in large lumps and shredded and once or twice I think I spotted a vegetable in there. Saying that, the beef carpacio was brilliant as was the ameretto ice cream of which my husband had two portions!

All in all our stay was wonderful and the staff were friendly, helpful and well informed.

Booked this Hotel for 1 night as had business in Brighton. Staff were very friendly and helpfull. Rooms comfortable but not what you would think of an AA****. The one thing you should be aware of however is that rooms are not ensuite. My room was accross a landing and down a few steps to toilet and shower room, my colegue however had to descend a flight of stairs to use facilities.
Food good and staff very helpfull and friendly as I said but lack of ensuite means a no return for me. This is not mentioned on website or while booking. Rooms also a lot smaller than those shown.

After reading a selection of reviews on the Hotel I wasn't sure what to expect but I was bowled away at how good the Hotel was. Firstly the location is ideal - only 5 minutes from the pier, a few seconds from the Seafront and restaurants and bars within walking distance. Mainly the service was impeccable - we were greeted on arrival and offered a tea/coffee whilst we checked in - all very efficient. We were then shown to our room and the Hotel facilities fully explained to us. The room was a Standard Double which was very clean, not huge room but ample for a few nights stay - toiletries were ample and towels fluffy. When we needed an ironing board one was delivered within minutes. Before we went out in the evening we had a quick drink in the bar and the same person who checked us in was there and was more than happy to explain all the best places to visit in Brighton. The next morning the breakfast was lovely and they seem proud of their Sussex fair - all well cooked and well presented - and again the staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough to help - all in all a great stay and wonderful introduction to Brighton - well done! My recommendation is don't believe everything you read - check it out for yourself!!
