Just a few minutes' drive from the bustle of Brighton you have this beautiful place - now part of the national park. Walk the gentle slopes, sit, dream, fall in love, take the kids, take a kite, have an ice-cream from the van. When you drive there, notice the flat bits of the snakey drive up to the top. These were put in for horse drawn carriages to give the horses a quick breather from the relentless climb. Doesn't have the jaw-dropping grandeur of the Lake District but we don't have many places like this in the crowded south east so get out there and enjoy. You can get a bus out there too.
